Joker: FAD to lose $150-200M, one of the biggest box office bombs ever

I just lurked the audience reviews on imdb and Rotten Tomatoes. It's painfully obvious when a review is by a little monster.

The 5 star reviews just say "Great film! Definitely the best movie experience of 2024! I recommend seeing it in IMAX!"…and then that's it. If you click on their profile, it's the only thing they've reviewed.

Every review where someone is saying something of substance (aka they're just a film fan who likes writing reviews and has actually seen it) is scathing.

Oh Monsters…

Yeah I liked the first movie but HATE musicals :deadbanana4: I love The Greatest Showman soundtrack and have replayed it 100000x times but have still never even watched the movie :deadbanana:

Calling it a musical was the biggest marketing disaster they could have done

The movie slaps though. It's really good

They're using pre-sales to estimate the first weekend. Essentially presales have been abysmal showing lack of interest so they're continuing to lower the prediction because presales aren't picking up even getting close to release date.

There is no 100% certainty though so it could always over perform or do even worse.

I know OGHs will disagree but I think news of Gaga's diminished role has had an impact on some of the audience's interest. I'm not saying she was necessary for it to be a success, but her addition has been responsible for a fair amount of the hype. First the news that it's a musical, then the mixed reviews (with none of the controversy of the first movie), and now this? I can't see it making even 1/3 of Joker's gross.

In the words of Grace, RELEASE THE GAGA CUT :clownny:

Since I'm not gonna watch, (I hate musicals), how good is it girls?

I saw it last night and it was shockingly bad. I enjoyed the first film, but half of the scenes in the trailers for Gaga arent even in the film.

This is the director's fault
