THANK YOU! mte. First movie was held up by a good performance from Joaquin (who has had far better performances from the movies he didn't walk away from) and the score. Terrible writing and terrible direction, much like all his other movies. Now that he can't rip off Scorsese anymore he serves up what seems like a more undeniable mess of a movie

Birds of Prey with Margot actually bombed harder. Opened with $33M

 

and Blue Beetle opened with $25M

 

oh and Madame Web $15M. Think that's the biggest bomb

I just lurked the audience reviews on imdb and Rotten Tomatoes. It's painfully obvious when a review is by a little monster. 
 

The 5 star reviews just say "Great film! Definitely the best movie experience of 2024! I recommend seeing it in IMAX!"…and then that's it. If you click on their profile, it's the only thing they've reviewed.

 

Every review where someone is saying something of substance (aka they're just a film fan who likes writing reviews and has actually seen it) is scathing.
