OT: I don't even know how people know this Brittany woman is a Trump supporter, so I have trouble following this (w)hole narrative tbh. But it's not like she's taking pics with actual Trump lackeys. I do think it's a bad look in general, but also think people are doing FAR too much by pretending that this means Taylor herself is a Trump supporter, when she's made is abundantly clear that she hates him.

And sure, we're not a monolith but you boiling this down as "people are way more than just their political views, hope this helps!" is you ignoring what people like you go through as well as blowing off how harmful Republican legislation affects people like you. Honestly, just admit that you were being flippant and thought you were doing something in the original quoted comment because there's no way you could have said that without taking POC into account (tip: "hope this helps" really sells how disingenuous that was). If you did take it into account and still did it, you're just a trashbag and nothing can be done.

 

And you and I both know that the people around you are a reflection on yourself, for better or worse. Taylor isn't meeting one-on-one with Brittany but is double dating that much different at this point? Once is an instance, twice is a pattern. She's also way too self aware of the perception the public has of her so I'm not quite sure its a mistake as much as she doesnt gaf.

I never said "hope this helps"?? I think you're referring to someone else but the combative attitude calling me a trash bag is unnecessary considering we're literally on the same side politically. 

 

We're on the same page - republican legislation is bad… but Taylor has nothing to do with that. EVEN if she hangs out with someone who's MAGA. Like I said I'll save my drags for if Taylor doesn't support Kamala. But in the meantime, I'd rather spend time supporting Kamala and working against republican lawmakers!

It is entirely okay if you cannot be friends with Trump supporters. I personally cannot. I still have to associate with people in my life that support Trump or other abhorrent views I cannot stand because of work, mutual friends, etc. They're not welcome in my inner circle, but I can put on a smile and be cordial because I'm an adult. If you have more firm personal boundaries that work for you, then that's great. But, taking the extra step of imposing those boundaries onto another person and require that they apply those same boundaries in their own life is peak parasocial behavior.

 

I felt the same way when losers like Bill Maher criticized Taylor for not sitting with Mahomes because (baselessly) assumed Taylor did that because of politics. That assumption on Maher's part was just as baseless and just as strange as assuming Taylor's own personal politics because she's coexisting with someone who happens to support Trump.

It would be hypocritical of me to criticize her considering I have to coexist with Trumpers in the workplace, events, and even in my own family a decent amount of the time. It's an unfortunate reality for those of us living in the Southern US or *insert red state*. Going scorched earth in public is just unintelligent in our reality (though Taylor of all people could afford to do that I suppose).
