FENTY.
21 minutes ago, Album Leak said: Rihanna felt like a trendsetter and overall ahead of the curve a few times in her music career, but it's always hard to say how much of that was her vision or her team's vision. Just a few examples: Black hair Paid out of her pocket Umbrella, Take a Bow and Disturbia videos Def Jam didn't want Take a Bow as a lead from GGGB: R Def Jam didn't want Disturbia video because "it was too dark" They didn't want Rude Boy on the album at all especially not as a single (Esther Dean confirmed this, and also she co-wrote) And she was 19-21 here. etc.
Vrx.
Selena Gomez literally exists. Her "finding her sound" is literally just her copy pasting Julia Michaels' entire demo and claiming it's her ~artistic creativity~ always sends me 2 2

Just now, Gladiator said: I am inclined to agree with people saying it's Selena. Selena Gomez being a 'singer' is a joke in itself. The girl can't sing or dance to save her life. Her only good album is 'Stars Dance' and that album is nothing but songs Britney passed on. Selena Gomez has no artistry or artistic integrity. Her saving grace and her biggest come up was Disney. Saying Selena Gomez is a singer, entertainer or artist of any kind is disrespectful to the art of music. 6 1
Kukai
Anti and Unapologetic prove that she has artistry. Non of the other girls are touching Anti She set many trends both in music and fashion and continues to inspire a generation. If anyone could do that with a good team we would see a lot more Rihannas but we don't. When Rihanna comes back she'll destroy Gaga and Beyonce easily. Scars
No, the pop girl you're looking for is Selena Gomez. Nearly two decades in the game and she has yet to show any range. No signature sound or image whatsoever. Edited September 7 by Scars 3

wish
Huh? Rihanna was one of the most exciting and multi-dimensional pop stars of her time for a reason. She constantly explored new sounds, looks, and concepts while putting her signature Rihanna mark on them. Not to mention her voice and unapologetic attitude -- the character she brings to her music is incredibly distinctive and can never be replicated (though many have tried). 3
bad guy
10 minutes ago, Josh said: How is she a chameleon when she mimics Sia's voice in the songs Sia wrote for her? Yes a voice. Something your fave hasn't used since the Clinton administration. OT: That would be Britney Spears, Selena Gomez, or other label products. 5 1

Relampago.
Maybe but she still outsold your faves and has more recognizable hits to the GP than other people's faves have songs in general, so idc and neither does anyone else Like I would fr rather bop to Pour It Up than hear pop girls write overdramatic, boring and bad songs. And not many pop girls have songs that cut as deep as Cold Case Love, Russian Roulette, etc anyways. Only Rih really could have sang those songs with such conviction imo. 2

That speaks for itself more than any publication or ratings system could. This. Rih hasn't released an album in 8 years and yet she's still accumulating more streams than some of y'all faves. Her catalog is THAT solid. Edited September 7 by itshyolee 2
