base talk Demi Lovato is using Selena Gomez image to promote her documentary

Selena Gomez, original Camp Rock role and original singer of Give Your Heart A Break, and Demi Lovato, producer of this doc and OGX ambassador, are once again in the public eye

 

 Despite not speaking for years, Selena's picture is being used in one of Demi's projects and is also mentioned in some scenes of the documentary.  

 

Their last public interaction was in 2020 when Demi performed at the Grammys, and Selena posted on her Instagram, saying how the performance

touched her and that Demi was incredible and talented.

 

Demi chose to ignore that and later told a couple of magazines that it felt "weird" since they no longer talk.  Their relationship ended years ago, and Demi even had a finsta account where she trashed Selena.

 

So why would she connect her, even in the slightest, to one of her projects? And if anyone mentions it—yes, Selena is a former child star, but she didn't participate in this documentary, so her image is being used for views.

why is the OGX ambassador dropping new documentaries like hotcakes

while i do know that Selena was part of Demi's life, especially as a child star, so i knew she could be somewhat mentioned on it or something, it's ugly that without her even being on the documentary a picture WITH HER is the chosen one to get clicks. there's no doubts about the intention behind it. her name is huge and they want its clicks.

That's the thing, from the looks of it she brought Raven, JoJo, and Alyson to be in the doc and share their experiences but not Selena? Why?

The first line is completely irrelevant to the thread, but okay..

I don't think she picked which picture was used for the video preview. I'm gonna say Hulu most likely picked to use that photo.

The fans that still want to believe that there's something deeper to this than there actually is needs to step outside and get some fresh air.

There's a part in the trailer where it shows pictures from her Disney days and there happens to be that photo.

She can reminisce of the old days regardless of who she's friends with or still has in her life. It doesn't have to have any other meaning other than that.

Love them both, but Demi definitely did not pick that in order to get views. Could Hulu have done that purposely for that reason? Possibly.

But the way fans create narratives for celebrities and think they know what goes through their heads is kind of unhealthy.

Registered as the first performer on Komca , Sacem, BMI and GEMA. It was pitched to her by Jaden Michales and her demo has not leaked. It also makes sense since she worked with Sel for WTSGD

Even if she seen it before they uploaded it I doubt she was like "Yes we absolutely have to do it because it's going to bring in all the views"... regardless of what's happened between them in the past, they grew up together and have expressed they will always have love for one another. I really can't see her using the imagine out of any ill intent.

Girl I love you and you're one of my favorite members on this forum but…yes?  The directors/producers don't determine everything that goes on with the marketing just like how film directors can't control whether or not the promotional material has spoilers and just like how artists aren't always able to choose their single covers (ex: Mariah complaining about one of the MIAMTEC covers being picked without her permission). 

 

I've had some mild greviences with Demi despite being a Lovatic but I don't think this is worth complaining about. For all we know, Demi could've asked Selena to be apart of it and she said no

I honestly think tell this day Selena Gomez would be willing the be friends with Demi. But the problem is Demi herself is a weirdo and I understand they have grown apart. But every time either are mention Demi always says something weird or bitter.
