Dula Peep Posted September 5 Posted September 5 19? What could they possibly have in common? He could be his grandfather even his great grandfather……. 5

EndofASadMovie Posted September 5 Posted September 5 I wonder how parents feel about things like this
AlbumOfTheYear Posted September 5 Posted September 5 we really need to stop normalizing age gaps. this is not a relationship, but an arrangement. 2
Luminary Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Vile predatory behavior, he should be ashamed (the 60yo)

Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted September 5 Posted September 5 2 pages in, and I'm kind of shocked no one brings up the age of consent just to defend a 60-year-old dating someone under 20... yet Progress, i guess

JoeAg Posted September 5 Posted September 5 what the actual f*ck can a 60 year old have in common with a 19 year old unless his motherf*cking prefrontal cortex was permanently stunted by something at that age, but i've never heard of him so i wouldn't know really. I can understand a one time hook up with a daddy at that age, cause a lot of us certainly had that once or twice but actually putting in the emotional investment to DATE one long term?? that's so insane to me, and the 60 year old should maybe use his critical thinking skills to remember that he is an advantageous position here, which is creepy 1
LIT Posted September 5 Posted September 5 One thing straight men and gay men have in common is seeking out significantly younger partners because their lack of life experience makes them more vulnerable to manipulation and abuse. 4

They're more than likely pretty open about it too 2

The power imbalance is there no matter how you slice it. If you don't agree, then let me be. 4

As someone who was 17 and their first and only partner was 37 this doesn't sit right with me. I know and understand the long term effects age gaps can have in the long run. I also live in the U.S. so why would I base my standards in another person's country? It's wrong no matter what country they're from or where it happens. 1 1

OK so judge ;) to each on their own Personally I don't understand why some people are so invested in lives of someone they don't even know (or knew they exist until now) And why would you base your standards in another's person country? Well, because maybe it is very ignorant and close minded and rules and laws of US doesn't apply to them unless they are in US, which they are not. It is absolutely logical to consider laws of the country the person is from. Edited September 6 by mike_int 3
