Not sure why it matters so much to OGH what the movie's score is

Her performance is acclaimed and the movie is pretty much guaranteed to be a box-office smash. She already won

This is like calling prism an acclaimed album because it has a green 61 score on metacritic :rip:

My guess is RT score will be in the high 40s/low 50s and MC will be as well

The original started out in the 90s on both but once it was properly screened for critics, they both free fell

2 panned films in a row is harsh for gaga, no matter how many "she was ackchually good in it!!!" reviews

the gp will start associating her with ass films and she will not generate as much hype thus making it harder for directors to cast her

First of all, the film is not panned and secondly, Gaga was the most praised aspect of the whole thing by even people who gave negative reviews

Why do critics hate DC so much :deadbanana4:. I can understand the collective hate for Marvel but at least they don't do McDonald's type content and try to push the envelope a little bit.

:ahh:

Last 5 DC movies:

- Ezra Miller's The Flush

- Black Adumb

- Aquabomb and the Panned Kingdom

- Trash Bettle

- Shazam! Fury of the Flops

The ******* nerve, the audacity :toofunny3:.

Gaga's issue is that she's only starring in a  movie every 3 or so years.

It's normal for the most acclaimed actor/actress to star in duds. But they're also staring in one to two movies a year and can easily move on to the next project.

But the thing is, Gaga is not purely an actress so she can't afford a yearly movie unlike the others. She's first and foremost a musician.

If Phoenix/Gaga won Volpi despite the film poor review ATRL will collapse methinks :suburban:

They are still far better than anything Marvel has put out in a decade except for Shazam lol

Yeah it's also clear that she's been very carefully picking her roles to somewhat align with her overall persona. ASIB she was playing a pop star, obvious. House of Gucci fits into Gaga the over the top fashion-forward diva with an underlying darkness. Harley Quinn is in the same boat. If she did a Tarantino movie next (one can dream) that would be a great fit. Cleopatra would be too.

She basically is going for either music-related or larger than life anti-hero type roles, something fun and glamorous that allows her to put on a show acting-wise and visually. Those roles are scarcer and harder to come by, she's not playing like a housewife or a depressed author or whatever Kate Winslet is doing nowadays.

This is the only important metric! It means the film is nowhere average. The overreactions, ugh

As long as it doesn't end rotten I'm happy. So far its on par with Joker (2019)

Anyone expecting an already divisive movie to suddenly turn out a universally acclaimed sequel was either setting themselves up big time or you're just a hater acting dumb. Godga as usual getting 10s across the board, somehow she always stays here although I think its talent that keeps her here?
