Communion Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Quote Three weeks ago, Israeli forces shot an American teacher from New Jersey. In the aftermath, Amado Sison told me that while Palestinians showed him "so much warmth and love," he has heard little from his own government. This despite President Joe Biden declaring in February that "If you harm an American, we will respond." Sison, a pseudonym he uses for his safety, was in the occupied West Bank to demonstrate against illegal Israeli settlement activity when he was shot. A State Department spokesperson told me they are aware of "reports involving a US citizen in the West Bank and are in contact with local authorities to gather more information," adding: "we are greatly concerned when any US citizen is harmed overseas and work to provide consular assistance." Neither the White House nor any of his home-state lawmakers have reached out. Quote "The money I pay in my taxes as a teacher probably funded the bullet they have run through me." 3 1
réveuse Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Disgusting! How could you not care for your own citizens getting violated? 7

ultraviolence.xx Posted September 1 Posted September 1 well I heard for four straight months that they're working tirelessly to get a ceasefire! 2 1
LIT Posted September 1 Posted September 1 For the U.S. ruling class, shielding the state of israel from any sort of accountability or punishment is a higher priority than protecting even their own citizens. Wild… 4
IBeMe Posted September 2 Posted September 2 They shot and killed tons of Americans in the West Bank and Gaza for years and even during these last few months but no outrage from the White House. No passionate speech from Kamala during a cnn interview about how Americans are being killed by Israel as she did about the Israeli Americans. Its so clear what will come with her admin. Still a better alternative to Trump I guess but damn the US sucks. additionally, what's also driving me crazy is all this emphasis on a ceasefire. We all know Israel will destroy Palestine all it wants until it's done and then Kamala will act like it was a win from her admin and she negotiated a peace deal when it'll just be because Israel will have killed a sufficient amount of ppl it wanted to kill. Then there's the issue of no Palestinian state. Kamala or trump (whoever wins) will take the "ceasefire" as their big foreign policy win and not do anything to help advance a Palestinian state from happening. So tiring .. 2
family.guy123 Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Hopefully just an American teacher and not an American settler 1
Jormungand Posted September 2 Posted September 2 The Israeli government targets US citizens on US soil and no one bats an eye. They're targeting US citizens on campuses and getting them fired from workplaces, yet the US government bends over backward. What crazy times we live in.
Both Sides Now Posted September 2 Posted September 2 3 hours ago, LIT said: For the U.S. ruling class, shielding the state of israel from any sort of accountability or punishment is a higher priority than protecting even their own citizens. Wild… We've already seen Biden was prepared to lose the election if it meant securing Israel's genocide. Unfortunately, Kamala seems committed to that too. 2
byzantium Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Ok. But remember he wasn't "shot". "His body encountered a bullet that was on a scenic journey through the air". We need to be careful with our language because it is very antisemitic to imply that Israel might be doing morally wrong things. 3 3
