How could it be deemed as overhyped by people who also call it unsuccessful because of its alleged missing chart performance?

If anything, the album is still very underrated, and still has more room to grow, despite the merits and undeniable success it already attained.

This, this, this. Ppl completely bastardizing the meaning of "overhyped" as if hype and chart performance are interchangeable. There's so much more to impact of music and culture than sales metrics.

It's her biggest album so it's a success for her, and it is a bit overhyped. I love Apple but don't listen to the album much and I also hate the (somehow iconic) album cover.

If anything she's proven that a successful era in the modern age isn't defined by numbers and charts but rather the amount of cultural impact and conversation in can generate to the audience it intends to speak to.

Charts are nice but when people think of music in 2024, they'll say it's the year BRAT came out.

You are working so hard to have the most disliked post, but you should have used word "shaky"!

Very impressive considering all her years in the industry. As impressive as the Shakira,Avril Lavigne and Beyonce comeback from this decade :giraffe:

How exactly did Shakira and Avril make a comeback in the past decade?

Avril hasn't had a Top 40 in eons.s:wan:

I think the album has def been a pop culture moment online and that it's chart run is pretty impressive.

It's been out for 12 weeks, debuted at #3, was #7 last week, and #11 this week.  And without any huge hits, as you mentioned.
