He's been making money off the song for a while.... But it doesn't match the narrative, and he just wanted a bigger piece of the pie for a trash remix that was six months too late. https://music.apple.com/ca/album/cuff-it-kaytranada-remix-mixed/1720762212?i=1720762409 All that whinging he did and his remix ain't even good. Sounds lazy af. I'd rather listen to the standard Cuff It or the Wetter Remix any day of the week. 3

She obviously didnt care that much to release it. She offered him a coin he asked for more and she moved along. How does that make her a bad person?

There are far better Cuff It remixes out here that got snatched off the internet for copyright and he's complaining.

You really think you know more about how things work than someone whose career is in part making remixes ? If he is saying she was paying too little is because he can compare it to other artists that have paid what it was worth. 1
John Slayne Posted September 1 Posted September 1 good for him for not kissing these artists' asses 2
Escape Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Y'all really don't need to be defending Beyonce/Parkwood for this. It's not like they don't have the money to pay him fairly.

He premiered his remix a year after Renaissance had released and Cuff It had peaked at #2 already. There was zero benefit to Bey or the song releasing the remix at that point because the single had run its course. So the fact that he was offered anything at all shows she was trying to look out for him when she didnt have to at all.

JonginBey Posted September 1 Posted September 1 He didn't like the price offered and declined. So what?
LegaMyth Posted September 5 Posted September 5 The Twista-Instrumental Cuff It remix is the one for me

mons†er Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Pretty sure the article say's Beyoncés team and not just Beyoncé. Reading comprehension is a lost art I see. If he felt some kind of way, why didn't he connect with Beyoncé himself? Yet he ran to an interview to air out his grievances. The lack of professionalism and communication in the industry always blows my mind.
family.guy123 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 (edited) So a normal business interaction took place and now he's framing it a certain way publicly to garner sympathy? The Swift Print in action Edited September 5 by family.guy123
Shelter Posted September 5 Posted September 5 "Beyoncé's team" misleading. Not him losing out on 2 big artists, good luck with your future.
Pheromosa Posted September 5 Posted September 5 isn't it similar to what Dolly does with Jolene? it's her song
suneclipse121 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Meh. He has the right to ask for how much he wants to get paid for his work and Beyoncé has the right to say no. It doesn't matter if she's loaded it's still her money.
Pepo Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Who cares. Either way, very bold of him to play the victim.
professor2000 Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I'm glad he just came out and said it…b/c in a previous thread on here, someone SWORE up and down him saying he "knew his worth" was NOT about her trying to steal credit. Looks like it was both money and credit. Not a Virgo trying to sideswipe another Virgo. I bet those discussions were heated. (I'm a Virgo too btw lol).
Robburro Posted September 6 Posted September 6 yeah y'all drag the Swifties but seeing this thread the Beyhive isn't that far from their delulu bubble
Titanbaddie Posted September 6 Posted September 6 I don't understand what the issue would even be here. Beyonce made a hit song He remixes the hit Beyonce likes it enough to offer to release it and makes an offer He's not happy with said offer so he says no Beyonce is fine with him saying no and moves on Literally nobody is wrong and everyone had space to negotiate and a deal wasn't done. He shouldn't even be bringing this up tbh.
