I just do not understand the reasoning behind performing GODSPEED at all  So many missed opportunities. She should've just performed June Gloom exactly the way she's done it at the festivals.

I think she was going for a transformational, kiss-off kind of moment. Something that felt buzzy, but above the noise. Saying goodbye to the blonde and the drama and the negativity of the era.

But it fell flat. I think a big problem is that it felt like it was building to something bigger that just never came. People also just don't care about her the way they used to which probably also colors the reception to her performance.

yes shes so tasteless after picked consequences as 3rd single from debut over she loves control,,, sometimes her choices were so.....

She wanted to be like Ed and Taylor back then, that's why she went with the singer-songwriter type song instead of another upbeat one. Hopefully she stops thinking that pushing ballads is the only way to prove you're a good songwriter. You also don't have to be "vulnerable" for people to take you seriously as an artist...

Imo, she's using this song to convey / control her narrative, especially after the confusing transition from Familia to C,XOXO (because that was a huge shift, people thought it was not genuine). From the performance, shes addressing critics and the Sabrina/Shawn love triangle, setting the tone for the next chapter. It's giving… rebirth.

While it's boring for us stans but its important for her artistic journey, i suppose.

I liked it? Let's be real here, it didn't matter what she performed, it wouldn't significantly boost album in streams/sales anyway, the ship has sailed.

Glad she did something fun to end the era, the laptop bit is already becoming a reaction gif on stan twitter and was hilarious.

Also if she had done I LUV IT with that Bacardi ad playing at EVERY ad break it would not have gone over well :dies:

is this what we've come to

Never heard the song before but it's good :clap3:

Well.

This era has been really awful from start to finish.

I must be one of the few people that stanned HARD the Familia era, I loved everything with the previous LP, and I want her back for the next project.

I don't think it can be understated how much of a failure this entire era has been for CC.

I am trying to think of an album that had more label support behind it (big budget music videos, high profile features from major stars like Playboi Cart, Drake, Lil Nas X) and still failed so badly.

Last night just exemplified that CC lacks star power: her dreary performance seemed so out of place while her apparent rival, Sabrina Carpenter, owned the night - from her super fun performance to winning "Song of the Year."

I think if CC has a future it will be as a guest feature on tracks from other stars: she does well in supporting roles, not so much in leading ones.

Why is Spotify not posting the streaming numbers for the 4 new songs? We got the 1st day update last Saturday but nothing since then.

I think it's giving ditching the era and that self after flopping, which IMO adds to inauthenticity, unfortunately.

She should have stuck to her sound and image.

She's been giving such wonderful performances at random festivals, and VMA was a huge opportunity for her to do it again, but this time on a televised awards show watched by millions. Of course, Camila and her team couldn't even pull this off.

This is doing too much. Yes, CXOXO is far from the commercial success Camila once used to have. But in terms of artistry and quality, Camila delivered. It's frustrating because I LUV IT had all the ingredients to become a hit. But as soon as those Charli XCX comparisons hit the internet, people tuned out. I genuinely believe the era was done for right there and then.

CXOXO has become of my favorite albums of the year and I never cared for her that much before. It's exciting to see her artistic growth; to see her experiment and willingly take risks. The material is there, it's just that the odds aren't in her favor at all.

It doesn't matter anymore; her image has taken a huge hit in this era. Even when she gave her all in Portugal and Glastonbury, people kept criticizing her. The blonde hair aint doing her any good, just makes people think of Sabrina and XCX comparison.

the album is terrible i know i blocked it on my playlists but good on you for supporting her. The album was weird, not catchy and aggresive in a lot of way and she felt like a featured artist. Also all those collabs did a disservice, no one helped her get a hit not even drake ...and yeah she tried to be edgy like charli xcx which didnt help matters. She peaked with her debut then her career started plumetting real fast.

Im so happy black hair Camila is back :heart2: the blonde and the era felt forced by her label. Godspeed is such a beautiful song, I'm so happy she performed it, especially because Sabrina performed a song about Shawn and Camila.

Just give us a theatre tour and then go hiatus, and come back in 2026 with a full Spanish album. I'm done with this era.

No she said she deleted the app off her phone for a while, not her account. IG too, I think.

Yeah this is truly her best bet. Do a small tour for die hards, then step away, give fans a chance to miss you (and non-fans a chance to forget xoxo ever happened). Then, come back a refreshed, refocused brunette leaning into her strengths a la a Spanish album (and with some stronger writers. I know she prided herself on leading all of the writing on this album but it's okay to ask for help if that's not your strong suit .)
