Whose idea was it to push Godspeed :rip: it's just so grating and unpleasant to the ears

Can Friends Kiss is RIGHT THERE jesus christ

She should've performed ILI and June Gloom :rip:

She always has songs that are literally right there and then she chooses the worst possible single choice

She loves control > consequences

Should've said it > Living proof > first man

Quiet > psycho freak

DCD/B.O.A.T/June Gloom/Baby Pink/Can friends kiss >>>>>>>>>>>>> godspeed

I felt the cathartic anger when she smashed that laptop. She did great.

So I guess now that she basically closed the whole era with this performance, we are not getting more rumored editions, right?

Awful performance, sorry I'm in full Bently meltdown mode rn

Me too. I'm such a hardcore fan - but how can I even defend this?

Genuinely seems like she asks to flop - outside of the 3 people in the room who know about c, xoxo (let alone the magic city edition), who would that performance or song have resoanated wirh??

yeah it's official - she's incapable of making good decisions alone. From singles to pefromances to tracklists...

Was the perfect opportunity to promote June gloom and she wasted :rip:

I still blame the debut era.

there was so much potential to first and foremost establish her as a force.

there were also expectations based on all the snippets she's been teasing or were leaking with all of those songs with major producers getting scrapped in the end and then her delivering a boring singer songwriter album

Havana was unfortunately truly a fluke.

Oh damn what could have been

and her voice was so perfect for the music of that time.

Her and her team should have focused on her having hits before letting her experiment and having a creative control (something Dua's team did right).

of course having to reject the middle and closer was also a burden for her

What a boring performance 💀 Did she sound and look good? Sure. But the VMAs have always been a place to do something out of the box and controversial. Instead, she just stood still in a glass box for 3 minutes. What a missed opportunity when the album is already doing so poorly.

June Gloom / GODSPEED could've been interesting… She could've opened with the blond wig… She could've lit the wig on fire… She could've done something sexy with the "wet for you lyric"… She could've alluded to the love triangle… And then transition into GODSPEED. Do something with the media being so intrusive… So much wasted opportunity with this album.

Very disappointed in her. She couldn't have done a medley of the singles? People don't even know she dropped an album, it would have been nice to showcase the new sounds there. Ugh. Horrible decisions, by HER, as usual.

Posted

Also I was at uni when Camila dropped.

i remember vividly that people were interested in her . Like students actually talked about her. Mostly mentioning ofc She Loves Control 😆 shows that people wanted BOPS not BORES

This performance was not cute, I did not understand the whole glass cage, laptop throwing, the black hair.

I just don't..... this era deserved so much more.

We can't even blame the VMAs because they gave her one of the last performances of the night. They really built a momentum for her.

I think it was a good performance but the song doesn't help. It's very boring, I'm sorry. It's not single material, at all. I know she wanted to make a very clear statement that she's not petty and pick me like that Espresso girl and for that, I give her her flowers but she needs to stop making her own decisions in her career.

And also, the brunette hair, breaking the laptop, etc. It meant the C,XOXO era is over, right?

But what about the tour? She'll tour with the brunette hair? It won't make any sense after this performance. I'm so confused.

Be fr, there is no tour. She would have announced that by now.

Don't come for queen Sabrina like that girl... lol. It's not Sabrina's fault that after years of working hard she is finally getting recognition and is using public interest, clever lyricism, and marketing to her advantage. :rip:

Honestly... Yeah, I hope so. I think she just needs to move on at this point. C,XOXO was a complete non-event when it should've and could've been so much more... The reissue generated some excitement, and could've been a potential moment but they completely fumbled it with this performance and single choice. With only one song off the album with barely over 100M streams on Spotify... they just need to forget this era ever happened.

The problem with her trying to create these "moments" with half-baked songs is that she doesn't realize no one cares 💀 not a single soul cares about her past with Shawn in 2024. That relationship has 0 value to the media as they are both flops right now. The love triangle was just fun banter on Twitter during Sabrina's release week when people found out she dated him too, but no one actually believes that was serious beef lol.

In terms of decisions, she needs to choose a lane and STICK to it. She says in interviews she listens to Rick Ross and Kodak Black (ew), but releases these types of boring songs? All of the collaborators on her album are rappers, but she wants to be a ballad queen when it's time to showcase what the album offers? Even Chanel No.5 would have been a better choice to sing than Godspeed!

It feels like she just gave up on the blonde personna and urban sound because of the hate trains and bad reception (which was amplified by Charli and the Drake beef, tbh). I really thought she would pull through until the end and act unbothered, but instead she chose to let the haters win and I just can't respect that, sorry.

I liked it? Let's be real here, it didn't matter what she performed, it wouldn't significantly boost album in streams/sales anyway, the ship has sailed.

Glad she did something fun to end the era, the laptop bit is already becoming a reaction gif on stan twitter and was hilarious.

Also if she had done I LUV IT with that Bacardi ad playing at EVERY ad break it would not have gone over well :dies:

I like Sabrina, but let's not act like she didn't have top tier co-writers and producers that worked on the album with her lol. A LOT of money was poured into her album by her label and that includes production. It almost reminds me of the time Shawn Mendes was forced down our throats in 2018 (by the same label btw). Those clever lyrics are not 100% self-written. At one point, this was Camila as well. And I mean love when I say Camila needs to link up with some co-writers again... she is a good songwriter, but she isn't a good hit-maker. Those things are mutually exclusive.

Didn't she say a tour is happening next year, for sure?

She needs to stick with experimental pop music like I LUV IT, Chanel no. 5, Baby Pink, Psychofreak, Love Incredible and also Find U Again. It's when she really shines.

I've been saying that for years.
