Camila Cabello - 'C,XOXO (Magic City Edition)'

She's a strange one.

  • Teases the album with electronic snippets that end up being nowhere to be found on the album.
  • Decides to write the entire album solo but packs it with a million samples and features.
  • Bold new sound for the first release (I Luv It) but then decides to save the radio campaign for a 'safer' song (Hot Uptown).

Oh well.

We do not know if those choices are actually hers or the labels.

This! I've been saying for so long that one of her biggest problems is lack of commitment. She has never followed through 100% with a concept. Always teases an idea but never fully executes it. Why every album feels like multiple in one. Why songs like Hot Uptown sound like something that should have been on her debut album, not in an album with I Luv It.

And this all probably comes from her wanting to please everyone and all demographics.

I don't think that snippet had a rapper on it.. she says real-life angels in Godspeed. Maybe that was that but distorted.

There's another snippet other than the "It's Time" clip that was floating around of her in a studio with the real life angels beat and a male rapper's voice (unidentified)

idk why everyone is surprised by this era, her and her team have never been good since her debut

they semi pulled through with havana but even that took ages

They didn't even pull through with Havana.. if she didn't randomly perform it on Jimmy Fallon, it wouldn't of been the hit it was

Haven't heard the new songs yet but I don't have high hopes tbh, I'm worried for her VMA performance.. I REALLY hope she still performs I LUV IT, DCD and June Gloom as part of whatever medley she does

also, sorry but I LUV IT still sounds so fresh even after all these months.. a huge mistake not sending it to radio

I actually love how the album turned out to be. I think it's very Camila but at the same time it's her trying something different and exciting. A mix of urban and tropical sounds with some experimentation is perfect for the Miami vibes she was looking for.

However i feel like the way she marketed this album was off and only created that stupid Charli drama… the era was DOA from that moment on. It made it seem like it was hyperpop and honestly i think I Luv It is the worst song on the album and shouldn't even be on it, let alone be the LEAD single :deadbanana: it doesn't represent the record ar all and probably it's the closest and the only one that reminds me of Charli

Pop fans already dislike her so basically they used that to spread even more hate. Lots of people refused to give the album a chance or were dumbasses saying "b-BuT sHe'S coPyiNg brAt" when they're nothing alike.

I saw some tweets the past days asking why He Knows wasn't a hit and how CXOXO was underrated etc… i think it might become a cult classic in some years but still feels unfair how people treated this era bc of a dumb marketing team.

Some of you haven't listened to come show me with decent headphones and it shows

this is the biggest disappointment of an album i've ever experienced lmao i can't believe the real life angels song will never be released to the public …

she put a real life angels lyric in godspeed and that's probably her excuse 😭

i love baby pink tho. her rapping is so good on the song and i loved the pitched voice. :gaycatina1:

Yeah, it's a bit weird. Especially with the recent dramatic trailer of Magic City. Deadass thought she's gonna give us something more (narrative wise) but oh well :rip:

Well… Not me waiting and checking all day for THATI think the only one I'll be keeping is Come Show Me and maybe GODSPEED will grown on me, idk… You know it's bad when pink xoxo clears all the new tracks:suburban:

This is all on her. She needs to shut the **** up, stop brag about herself being in control of everything and let others handle some things.

I thought the worst move in her career was not releasing She Loves Control as the third single of debut, but she proved me wrong and decided to do even worst. Teasing an era with songs that aren't even on the album is the messiest thing I've ever seen.

And don't tell me she didn't promise that because the whole point of the rebrand along with those snippets and those interviews about doing "weird pop experimental" was to make everyone believe she was doing something different. Don't tell me those magazines, interviews and crazy cool photoshoots match with doing an album full of ballads, tropical and afrobeat generic music. It's all very confusing and disappointing.
