BlahBlahBlah Posted September 5 Posted September 5 If she hadn't gone full camcorder aesthetic and glitchy snippets for teasers (for no reason, really, since the album doesn't match that look or sound at all) the stupid Charli drama would've never happened 2
rickycabello123 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 bentley will stan both tate & sabrina after this tragic deluxe 1
Club classic Posted September 5 Posted September 5 the songs are good! should have been the standard 1
Gladiator Posted September 5 Posted September 5 (edited) Just listened to the tracks. I'm left wanting more. They are okay. I'm happy I have 4 more tracks to extend the tracklist length, but I was expecting some bigger songs than that and I am left wondering what else this adds to the album. I think this would have benefited from being one of those deluxe versions where the tracklist is reordered. Edited September 5 by Gladiator

kellebrity98 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 all tracks are okay but nothing special tbh. i will listen to them on a train ride or smth but not a song i'd prob listen to on repeat
Kern Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Oh well, we will always have I LUV IT, HE KNOWS and DREAM-GIRLS and the excitement when we saw the first live performance of Pretty When I Cry. No one will take that away. 1
HarleyWin Posted September 5 Posted September 5 (edited) Hyperpop was probably a term Camila herself was unfamiliar with before the Charli drama 💀 and it seems like 90% of her haters still don't know what hyperpop is. I Luv It isn't even hyperpop actually, it's a Jersey beat/trap fusion. It's the most hip-hop leaning song on the album but people call it hyperpop because they will cling to anything they just learned about. Edited September 5 by HarleyWin 3
normanikordeix Posted September 5 Posted September 5 baby pink would be excellent if the production was stronger - it sounds like a demo. im sure it will grow .. Can friends kiss is the only instant for me! I love it! 1
CamilaSpears Posted September 5 Posted September 5 look the songs aren't bad (especially baby pink) but the real life angels / bad valentine snippets are just better
Golden Hour Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Weird decision for them to not include those snippets. Even if they were just made for the trailers, some time to work them into songs would have probably done a lot for the album since most people were interested in those. Overall though, I enjoy the new songs. I wish that we had gotten more though. That and some songs in the I LUV IT/Chanel corner - though I am happy that these are a bit more "experimental" in choices and sound. 6
kos1692 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Is Godspeed a good choice as the lead of this deluxe version?

The looks, the aesthetic and the sound were on point and very cohesive with what she was teasing. Then we've got an album full of ballads and afrobeat sounds. It's very confusing. I love that album, it's probably her best, but it's really frustrating seeing so much potential being waste with songs that don't do justice for the artist she can be. It's pretty clear to me that weird pop songs like I LUV IT, Chanel no 5, Baby Pink, Psychofreak and Love Incredible are the ones where she shines more and really separates her from the rest of the pop acts out there. She should stick with this sound, aesthetic and then she can create a loyal fan base that would be invested, and also the indie alternative bubble. 2
Matchatea Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Am I the only one who loves Godspeed? Can't listen to the other songs bc I love this one! 1

Her avant-garde pop songs will get more appreciation once she stops looking corny to the gp. I don't want to sound like a hater, but her past "good girl" image and association with Shawn Mendes makes this era seem inauthentic to a lot of people. You can't have dated Shawn Mendes and made songs with him and then try to do hip-hop/urban sounds without people going "huh? this feels weird and out of character". It will take more than 1 era to get people on board and see her differently. 1 1
rancidgirl Posted September 5 Posted September 5 have a great summer baby! i liked the deluxe … i am a little disappointed cuz of real life angels and mind not being on it but maybe she will pull a taylor swift or something and do a deluxe deluxe (she won't)
LittleFreak Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Yeah, this is a bit disappointing. The songs are fine, but I don't think they add anything to the album. 1
rickycabello123 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 it will flop (godspeed) unless they inject autoplay like sabrina
Saint James Posted September 5 Posted September 5 they got the first 2 singles right, nothing hits as hard as they do. Godspeed is something different for her. the album needed to be more like that, less Lana cosplay and autotune rap dribbles. 2
