TaylorsSquad Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Olivia and Billie smashed with their debut albums no ones shook at Sabrina finally getting success after 5 Eras. 1
Tm4074 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I love when a pop girl smashes ATRL collectively makes all these bold claims that never come to fruition lmao. This is Sabrina's SIXTH album and the first time she experiencing success like this. Happy for her but come on...lol.

Success stans… No shade to miss sabrina but this album's cover is so uninspiring and the overall concept is so boring and uninspired. She's actually really lucky that the label spend god knows how many millions on this project. Even Olivia and Billie faced with big big issues and trouble with their 2nd albums even tho their success was very organic. Its going to be really funny when sabrina struggles with her 7th album's lead single and follow up singles and leading up to the album release. 1
perfectillusion204 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 (edited) I read something a few months ago that the industry wants Sabrina to be the next Taylor. And I didn't believe it. But now I definitely do. Happy for all of her success!! Edited August 27 by perfectillusion204
katysuxx Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I knew Sabrina was gonna dominate the moment Spotify secretly debuted the Autoplay feature which shoved 'Nonsense' down my throat 1

alfonso12 Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Embarrassing thread considering that, unlike the other girls, it took her 6 albums to finally be noticed.

You have no real criticism when you go for the album cover... 1 2
Popboi. Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Anyone who says they're not surprised is lying, those pure sales were completely unexpected by everyone, even on Saturday after the streaming figures came out A lot will be in similar shock when Chappell drops her next album.
QuanticXplosion Posted August 27 Posted August 27 I hope The Christina Aguilera presents her daughter Sabrina Carpenter her best new artist Grammy
KKCuteCat Posted August 28 Posted August 28 ATRL always has a dumb thread like this. As if being the second or third biggest is something disastrous and humiliating OT: To be fair, WWFA was so big, but it only got bigger AFTER the album was released when BG became a huge smash. Prior to the album's release, Sleep hadn't had a Top 10 hit. In Sour's case, it became the most streamed album because of its stability. Let's see how SnS do in long run. And by long run i mean sthg longer than 3 days. 1

shinyshimmery Posted August 28 Posted August 28 So many people are butthurt in this thread I hate that people are trying to say this is Sabrina's debut. She's been around, and that makes the success a lot more impressive. It's better to start low and go high, than the other way around.
Roberto Posted August 28 Posted August 28 (edited) Not really, Espresso and PPP are probably the biggest pop songs this year so far. I would be more surprised with a +400k debut, but this is very impressive and excellent numbers for her breakthrough era. Edited August 28 by Roberto
mojitos Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Sabrina is NOT going away now no matter what, she already has a established fanbase which is why SNS tour sold out so fast, all it's tracks are still top 30 on AM US and doing 2m daily, and the album is debuting with 150k pure sales, literally a number no female artist but Taylor, Billie, Adele, Bey and Olivia has achieved recently, she seems extremely ready for a big career and knows exactly what to do go viral. She will also probably fill the gap Taylor will leave in the industry once Eras ends and she goes on a break.

She will also probably fill the gap Taylor will leave in the industry once Eras ends and she goes on a break. I agree with mostly everything, but she won't fill Taylor's gap in the industry, even with Taylor's support. Not only will Swifties continue streaming Taylor's catalogue like crazy even if she ever happens to take a two year break as she usually used to, there's also the fact that Sabrina's ballads/downtempos are not seeing Taylor's in the eye and that's a huge part of Taylor's appeal to her audience. Taylor is a well-round songwriter that can gives us a bop like Blank Space but then turns around and unveils something heart wrenching as All Too Well or an album like Folklore. In that department Olivia is the one taking it as far as the Taydaughters go. But then Olivia seems incapable of dropping a full-on unabashedly pop album as Taylor did around the mid-2010s, since she turned her image to a more alt influenced pop-rock lane that she sells as closer to her true self. If she doesn't outgrow the edgy teen thing, which was perfect for a 19 YO for GUTS, her brand will definitely be stuck and people will move on from her. Sabrina is way closer to filling the Ariana space once Ari focus 100% in her movie career. Sabrina also has the vocal chops, the stage presence and the dirty sense of humor that are way more Ari than whatever Taylor has written. I hear Taylor in some of her tracks, but if Taylor hasn't supported her publicly other names like Kacey, Clairo and Ariana would be the first to-go instead as main comparisons
