Streaming has only gotten bigger so not surprised at it outdoing WWAFA's debut especially when that album's debut numbers were a shock at the time and it only kept blowing up from there. Outdoing Olivia is surprising though. The SOUR success stans told me she was unbeatable in 2021 and...well congrats to Billie and Sabrina

This girl finally escapes the khia asylum with her 6th album and yall are suddenly using her to drag everyone from Olivia to Billie to Ariana, etc. Never change fomos.

 

 

The album has a lot of gems and she/her team delivered a bulletproof campaign so far so it's paying off.

All of those albums did or are projected to do upwards of 300k. How this is such a fail for Olivia or Billie is beyond me.

I do not understand why people are trying to compare a 6th album to debut albums

Y'all are doing way too much on SOUR. It pulled bigger numbers than Short N Sweet in a daily basis so far. SOUR only had 72k sold copies. The rest came from the biggest US Streaming Week for a female by that time… Sabrina is outdoing but her pure sales are way above the threshold (which is not a drag, just pointing out how SOUR was huge in the streaming department). Also SOUR album tracks had more streams than SNS on average.
 

The thing about SOUR is that it has had crazy longevity. It is still charting inside the top 50 on B200 and its album tracks are reaching a billion status. Sabrina is doing ******* amazing and surpassing every expectation. It's bolding well for a new top 10 female most streamed project ever, but let's wait until the Espresso/Please Please Please/Taste dust settles and see where its album tracks will land, because SOUR has a third album track about to reach a billion (also Traitor and Deja Vu are both reaching 2B in months… that will make 4 2B+ songs for a single project…)

Doesnt matter. Victoria Monet was in the industry since 2009 and won this award in 2024. It's about an artist experiencing a breakthrough moment in their career which she definitely had. She hasnt submitted three times deeming her eligible.

  This is so disappointingly low.  We know GUTS was a flop however she should be so much higher than SOUR given the growth of Spotify.  Given its the same year as Billie's album drop she should be up around 360 K.  I still think she can get there.

Can you all stop comparing her with debut albums? Its so silly. And Her payola is unmatched compared to Olivia's and Billie's. KIIS and Z100 played songs over 103 times combined yesterday. Biggest 2 radio stations in US.

That was because Gaga was already nominated for a Grammy before her breakthrough year. Sabrina has not been nominated for a Grammy yet. And those rules changed after Gaga wasn't nominated sis. 
 

Shelby Lynne won the award in 2001 with 6 albums released already. She won because she had a big breakthrough in the music industry as an artist. Sabrina is new to a wider audience. 

 

Also best new artist isnt even all that as an award. I wouldnt mind her not winning it since it has been deemed as a cursed award for many. Former recipients literally call that award a "kiss of death"

Keep in mind that SOUR had no vinyls when it debuted with 295k and could've easily crossed 350k if they were ready in time. Congratulations to Sabrina anyway! Hopefully her success stans won't be around when her 7th album inevitably doesn't reach the same level of success as SNS
