Taylor is obviously the person referenced in the song but it's about Charli being insecure it's obvious. Like she was saying she was made so insecure by comparing herself to Taylor that a part of her was hoping that Taylor and Matty broke up so she didn't have to be around her anymore and feel like that. Like those sorts of thoughts aren't rational or reasonable, not are they how someone truly feels. It's just insecurity rearing it's ugly head. Then her boyfriend's attempts to convince her she is being ridiculous and sympathise with her just made her feel worse about it.

Meanwhile for us living in reality, it seems the Swifties were the only ones who actually listened to the lyrics.

I thought the song was about how she feels, how insecure and maybe awkward but at the end of the day, it's her issue.

From what I recall it was mainly the Charli fans/"fans" who were adamant that she was shading Taylor and were jumping with glee that she had joined the mythical Hate Train (TM) against Taylor

Not her dragging the interviewer Rightfully so. That was a very weird way to phrase it, even if it was about Taylor and how anxious working with big artists made her feel, why would she remove the song line

 

 

 

I also feel like she's not beating any allegations here by mentioning The 1975 venue sizes when she was opening for Taylor's stadiums
