In her New York interview, Charli hinted that the line was more about being intimidated by the size of venues that The 1975 plays. “Sometimes I’d look onstage and be like, ‘Oh, my God … I’m never going to play these rooms, ever,’” she recalled. “That made me feel jealous. I told Matty that. And George. They were both like, ‘Shut up. What are you talking about?’”

People are gonna think what they want to think,” Charli, 32, told New Yorkmagazine in a cover story interview published Monday, August 25. “That song is about me and my feelings and my anxiety and the way my brain creates narratives and stories in my head when I feel insecure and how I don’t want to be in those situations physically when I feel self-doubt.”

When asked whether she ever considered removing the “backstage” line because of the possible reference to Swift, Charli, who opened for Swift on the 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour, replied, “No. … You do the silence game. But I know that well — where you go silent and want me to talk more. But I don’t care about it being awkward. We’ll sit in silence.”

The way OP just looked like a blank wall of entered spaces and the link. Let's learn pasting as plain text or Ctrl+Shift+V / Shift+Command+V sweeties

She's saying the song is about her own insecurities and not as simple as a "taylor swift diss track" like some people have painted it as

Posted

So the Taylor Swift remix is being used on Rewind instead :jonnycat:

Exactly like this is critical info and we can’t even read it! Disruptive

The song is actually about how she loves Taylor Swift and how she thinks Taylor Swift is the best person in the world and how she was glad Taylor blocked her with the variants. Reading comprehension is key!

I mean the theme of the song is mostly about HER insecurities and how sympathy unsettles her.

Yea the gays here kinda ruined the actual meaning

Anyone who actually listened to the song would not this.  But I guess it is known that the comprehension skills of certain internet trolls are underdeveloped.

We been knowing it's not a diss. A remix?
