jadeabove Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) Damn Macron better get his wig ready, because this is about to get messy. So much for Liberté, *****. Edited August 26 by jadeabove
Dekkan Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Ah yes, liberals raise the alarm as far-right parties become a direct threat to democracy and then, when the left wins the democratic elections, liberals do everything they can to prevent it from governing and, in an act of desperation (and out of sheer hate for the progressives), seek the support of the right-wing and conservatives. I'm almost surprised. 5 9
Virgos Groove Posted August 26 Posted August 26 (edited) Sadly predictable. Macron and his neoliberal government have only benefitted the rise of the far-right. Edited August 26 by Virgos Groove
State of Grace. Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Quelle surprise! Him basically saying "people voted against the far-right not for the left". He banked on the left being fragmented, but they defied his gamble and saved France from LePen and this is what they get in return. Démocratie my ass! 6
roso Posted August 26 Posted August 26 ******* *****, he's the one who laid the groundwork for Le Pen's popularity. he put us through hell two months ago to vote, and now he wants to just ignore the result??? he's thinks he's untouchable and it's sickening
Oziee Posted August 26 Posted August 26 He hijacked 6 weeks, then he refuses the first coming party to rule as it's the custom in the political system. He's no more than a tyrant.

Arrows Posted August 26 Posted August 26 A minority coalition with conservatives? Can someone explain how this is even possible?
ctlp27 Posted August 26 Posted August 26 The Left Alliance made a mistake in 2022 by refusing to accept the President's relative majority, and now they look like fools while being in a worse situation than he was in 2022. Why should anyone be surprised? It makes no sense to appoint a prime minister that every other group in the NA has vowed to censor in the first week. The NFP should have tried to reach an agreement instead of rejecting it on election night. But this is probably their strategy. Why govern with obstacles and not be able to do anything with less than 200 MPs and burn your credibility until the next presidential election? Everybody is playing now. 1 2
Gov Hooka Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Fishhook theory and ratchet effect in action to all the shitlibs out there still saying hOrShOe tHeOrY Liberals have ALWAYS enabled fascism, period 2 2

DAP Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Can't have the poors thinking they are entitled to a dignified life. They will eat the crumbs we give them and they will enjoy it. 1
Namiskine Posted August 26 Posted August 26 And then these ****heads wonder why people stop voting. He lost THREE f***ing elections in a row, is the 3rd party FAR BEHIND the Left and (unfortunately) Le Pen's, yet he still acts like people want more of his liberal ****. We definitely need to get rid of that cockroach and the 5th Republic, and we're not going to wait until 2027. 2
IBeMe Posted August 26 Posted August 26 i'm so confused cuz like didnt the left have the most seats so doesnt that mean they can not only have a Prime minister but they hsould actually remove Macron as president and elect a president from their own party ? How is Macron calling the shots if his party in the coalition is the second most voted and not the first and the third overall party in general? So confused

So confused The left won the election, but doesn't have enough seats for an absolute majority. They could try to impeach him with the help of Le Pen's party, but working with the far-right might prove unpopular with their electorate. Macron is still calling the shots because the French constitution is extremely presidential. It's one of the reasons the left wants a Sixth Republic. 1

It feels like he is power hungry. Giving mini authoritarian vibes tbh...if he isnt willing to compromise at all then he is actually really problematic

Giving mini authoritarian vibes tbh...if he isnt willing to compromise at all then he is actually really problematic His entire presidency has basically been: Get huge percentages because nobody wants Le Pen as president. Disregard the left and implement neoliberal measures that make Le Pen even more popular. Le Pen starts rising in the polls. Left and center unite and elect Macron. Rinse and repeat. It's a symbiotic relation, like centrist Dems and Trump. 2
A.R.L Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Lmao, someone needs to remind him that he actually lost the first round against Le Pen and if it was just him, Le Pen would already be in the Elysee's palace now and not him.
Kitty Kat Posted August 27 Posted August 27 Macron's interior minister: "It's not just the political parties who get to decide who the PM is"
