I suspect the fact this is only counting Pop Radio #1s must play a role (I'm sure Drake and Morgan Wallen must have achieved this on Urban/Rhythmic and Country respectively, for instance). @ithinkheknowsoutsold shared the pre-95 list which also includes Michael Jackson, but otherwise I think the other male pop stars suffered from the timing (e.g. Justin Timberlake with the "FutureSex/LoveSounds" singles, where "SexyBack" peaked in 2006 while the rest topped the charts in 07) or they simply didn't release enough US pop radio singles (Ed Sheeran with "Divide" and "Equals"). Having a behemoth smash hit overshadowing the follow-up doesn't help matters eithers (e.g. The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" vs. "In Your Eyes", Harry Styles' "As It Was" vs. "Music For A Sushi Restaurant"). That being said, I think The Weeknd and Usher must have gotten closest to joining this elite with the "Beauty Behind The Madness" and "Confessions" eras respectively, but I assume "Earned It" and "Confessions Pt. 2" + "My Boo" performed better on the R&B stations. Holiest Dreams Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Taste feels more radio friendly imo than PPP so I think it's easily coming for another one. And realistically with the momentum she has rn (she's absolutely the new pop radio princess whew) I could see a 5th if she extends the era out. Several more smash singles in there.
Mrnoniee Posted August 26 Posted August 26 I'm sure Katy would've more, if timing was right Her 1st three album have been smash after smash

Usher has only had one pop radio number one in his entire career (2 on Billboard, but that one was a feature). Earned It went number one on pop; it was The Hills which peaked at number 2 (behind Locked Away by R City and Adam Levine) and broke his streak. 1
