SoldierofLove Posted August 22 Posted August 22 "I've had a really great career and I've enjoyed every second of it and I'm kind of in that next phase of my life right now. It's fantastic. I'm loving every single moment of it." That next phase includes new music. Kelis confirms she's "a good 75-80% there" on a new album, her first in a decade. "The issue is when I start, if I don't continue momentum, then it's like I'm a new person by the time I start up again. And then I'm not interested in what I had already done, so I start again. That happened a few time over the past years. Now I'm in a space where I'm the closest to being done [on an album] that I've been, which is very good." And how does the new album sound overall? "I would say it would be like if Wu-Tang and Sade had a baby. That's kind of where we're at." https://au.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/kelis-new-album-interview-65868/

Love4Janet Posted August 22 Posted August 22 She announced an album called Dirt years ago. I wonder if that's what she's still working on. Can't wait! All of her albums are excellent
commander Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I've been enjoying her a lot in her influencer era. She really seems very happy travelling the world.
Princess Aurora Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Interesting. I'm looking forward to listening to it
ThePopStop Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I know it ain't ever gonna happen again but I'm dying for her to release some dance music. Flesh Tone was absolutely amazing. 1

All of her albums are excellent I was really looking forward to that album but sadly the death of her husband probably got in the way, she deserves the world honestly. Midnight Snacks and Feed Them were on repeat in my house. If she serves us another Lil Star and some Kaleidescope/Wanderland style bops I think I will die happy. I get she feels like she keeps changing but just release the music sis we are thirsty and want it, I find it annoying when artists are so perfectionists they hold onto work that's already done. 1

I don't think neither Midnight Snacks nor Feed Them were up to her previous projects. Maybe if Feed Them were longer...
