They might have huge GP hits but they lack a real fanbase and are nowhere as relevant as the likes of Bruno Mars, The Weeknd and Justin Bieber. This is a good answer too

Infernal Paradise Posted August 22 Posted August 22 (edited) Edit: wait I read the title as biggest B-lister flop, my bad... Edited August 22 by Infernal Paradise
laqqinq Posted August 22 Posted August 22 There are different kinds of B-listers in music. One are those who consistently just stay B list. They have hits but not too big, get good amount of promo, perform at high-profile events, get invited to places, have a decently sized but not too big social media following. They may have a peak or two in terms of eras, albums, or big hits. Others are those who were once A-list but descend to A-/B+ list. They may have one or multiple hits/smashes/peaks, but then become B-list while still maintaining relevancy to their name in certain fields and areas; they usually appear, operate their brand/image, are treated, etc. on or close to the scale of A-list stars, and may boast a big social media following because of a strong fanbase, former/current GP interest, and peak eras they had in the past. They usually pivot to other business ventures and brand endorsements; relevant enough to get big brand associations and high-profile invites because of their name, impact, and whatever big they have done in their career, be it then or now. They don't really actively worry about their relevancy mostly as they have established themselves and may find success in other ventures like businesses, brand associations, social media, TV show judging/talk shows/reality TV, acting, production, voice roles, etc. But some of them also may be a former hit thing but flopping at the moment. Some of them majorly rely on media coverage of their personal lives in order to stay relevant. However, the major chunk of them usually already have a side business or gig going well by the time they fade out of the A-list in their primary occupation; or just back out of the limelight and enjoy their personal lives; having occassional visits to Hollywood, events, etc. Many of these are usually current/former household names. Many of them have strong A-list presence online or to a certain generation, but on the overall, are B-list.

But then demi would fit into the second section because she's a far bigger name than sabrina carpenter and camila cabello as a celebrity/figure even when she's flopping musically.
Illuminati Posted August 22 Posted August 22 There's no science behind it, there's only A listers, people you stan regardless of their status, and Z listers
thatsmydemi Posted August 22 Posted August 22 (edited) Maybe Demi? She's never had the success of an A-list artist, she's always maintained some moderate success throughout her career without reaching high peaks and even now that she doesn't have commercial success, she hasn't lost her celebrity status and the media continues talking about her. Some artists have enjoyed A-list artist kind of success (Camila, Meghan Trainor, Carly...) but quickly faded away and would now belong to a C-list or lower. Edited August 22 by thatsmydemi
UnusualBoy Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Charli XCX? She's big now but not like everybody knows her or would recognize her in the streets, at least not yet.
Mikeymoonshine Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I feel like once you're an A lister you always are so people like Christina and Katy who used to be big but are now flops are still A listers. B listers are more people like Demi, Shawn maybe even Selena Gomez. They've had decent success but they have never been massive or achieved the level of fame someone like Gaga, Taylor, Bruno, Justin Beiber, Beyonce ect.
