Maria Branyas Morera, the oldest known living person since January 2023, died in her sleep yesterday on August 19th, at the age of 117 years 168 days. She was the oldest ever person who lived in Spain and the last person left from 1907.
 

The new world's oldest person is Tomiko Itooka, born May 23, 1908.
