Getting hostile because someone asked you for a photo in public? She comes across as very entitled it's not just about a photo girl be serious, she obviously had a huge rise to fame and is getting stalked/online hate/family harassed without having the neccessary support system, pr training, security or protection for herself or her family. she isn't equipped to handle the fame and it's burning her out, but that's because she blew up quickly and hasn't had the time to learn the skills and resources to do so. 4 4
Riverbank Posted August 19 Posted August 19 (edited) Part of me still hopes she doesn't let this get to her head and prematurely ruin her career but sadly I can see her puling a Doja Cat soon Edited August 19 by Riverbank 5
Pop Art Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Just now, Tropical said: Completely disagree. I imagine her exact time right now is the single most difficult in a new celebrity's life, when they're adjusting to fame. I doubt there is a single person alive who didn't completely struggle and feel like they'd lost control of their life. I hate how people dehumanize celebrities and act like they should have this magical ability to transcend what is normal, natural and reasonable because of the world's obsession with and envious feelings towards a celebrity. There is nothing anyone could do to prepare for what it feels like to have stalkers, to be harassed by tens of thousands of people online and to have your family stalked. I would agree if her disdain didn't go beyond stalkers to just fans seeing her on the street and wanting a picture of her as we see in this TikTok. But perhaps she just needs some time to adjust and I'm being a bit harsh, I'll give you that. 8
Raichu Posted August 19 Posted August 19 She completely blew up in what, 4 months? While I'm sure she's grateful I can't imagine the mental toll that takes. Hope she's taking care of herself and has a supportive group of people around her. 1 1

ChrispyBelievix Posted August 19 Posted August 19 that graph going around about her rise to fame really struck a nerve huh? No but really, if I were her and got bombastic side eyed by sum balding unmarried middle aged man for declining a photo I would be raging like her, and even more unhinged. BUT she's too precious and talented to be acting up like that. I truly hope her team also consists of therapists who do mental health check ups on her. It's tumultuous times for this queenie 1 1
family.guy123 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 So fans ask for them a photo, she calls them weird, and then posts about it online when they respond negatively? Yeah, she's the only weird one here 7 2 4
LustSpell Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Very few people could handle her overnight, meteoric rise to stardom that she has attained. I cannot blame her for completely overwhelmed after literally being a normal person until 9 months ago. It's too much 10
stars Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Except, you're not just a 'random *****' you're quite literally a celebrity . I know this has been a lot for her considering she blew up in just a few months—but she's in the thick of it now baby. She needs to get over that hump of expecting normal treatment because it's not going to happen anytime soon unless she fades into irrelevancy or gracefully bows out. 4 1 1

UnusualBoy Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I mean, we exactly don't know what she's going through but we do know stans can be so annoying and entitled when they don't get what they want. She's mentioned that her family has been harrassed and such so you cannot blame her for saying this. I just hope this doesn't take a toll on her. 1 1
Maxxxine Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Oh shut up, Kayleigh Can't wait for her to be forgotten by next year 3 16 14
IBeMe Posted August 19 Posted August 19 She complains way too much for someone so blessed. Humble yourself and learn some humility. You sing for a career. That's a huge huge huge gift the public has bestowed on you. I understand it's tough being famous and it probably stinks but she seems to have a victimhood complex. 9 1 8
Windy Day Posted August 19 Posted August 19 i understand calling out parasocial relationships and fans trauma dumping on her but being offended because she's getting recognized in public? like she's not the one showing her face on every media possible every single day? girl just make music alone in your room atp 7 1 1
Popular Post Big Bad Wolf Posted August 19 Popular Post Posted August 19 Listen we all understand what she is saying but the reality is that she is now a recognizable celebrity and will be treated as such especially in public spaces. It's a little too late for this. And I wouldn't constitute this as "harassment" either. Those are excited fans. Imagine someone like Beyonce. And I hate to say it but she's just coming off bad. Being rude on stage, being rude to fans in real life, already complaining about every aspect of fame. It's not a good look! If she's not careful she'll get a bad rep in the industry. 15 1
shookspeare Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Everything about this girl screams flash in the pan but I do feel bad for her, such sudden success must be so disorienting 5
jrd30121994 Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I recall staying in the same hotel as her when I was in Melbourne for her show last year. It was just by chance I was wearing her merch and in the hotel foyer, my friend saw her look at me and immediately look down at her phone. I don't think she's cut out for fame and understandably so i don't doubt it would be a tough gig. 8 1
P!NK2LOVE Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Sigh. I mean it get it… but I also don't. If I wanted to be a superstar I would be THAT star. I wouldn't act like a regular no more. It's cringe… like, you asked for this. Handle it better. 1 4
GreatCoolBright Posted August 19 Posted August 19 38 minutes ago, Sheep said: This isn't it sorry. Love her but she's not cut out for fame. Like yes not being able to exist as a private person in public is traumatizing and celebrity as a construct is destructive. She has the power to pull the plug on her career and go get a job in finance or something but is still raking in the checks and bookings from her album. The people who think they know her are the ones paying her bills. I wouldn't personally run up to Gaga or Beyonce and demand their time and attention in public but I wouldn't throw hands at the others going up to them. It's no secret that the only real solution in these scenarios is to remove yourself from public spaces, which is obviously hard as somebody who's not even fully established yet but it really, REALLY, REALLY comes with the territory. Making and posting this video in itself is inserting her into a public space. You don't get heaps of praise and adoration and money just for existing and then give up nothing except some studio sessions and live performances in return, there ARE trade-offs, it's a JOB. There's a reason all of our favs try to make themselves scarce and unknowable outside of working hours. Great answer. Fame is destructive to anyone … unless you're a narcissist (but even then, any failure is destructive)
chaneloberlin Posted August 19 Posted August 19 She complains too much. Olivia had a more controversial lightning bolt thrust-to-fame moment and she didn't talk this much omg 6 1
Popular Post Bussea Posted August 19 Popular Post Posted August 19 (edited) She's correct. Yall weird and need to realize that these people are human beings too and that you need to still respect boundaries. The people who justify harassing celebrities (both good and bad) are idiotic. Please learn how to act normal people don't act the way that stans act sometimes and im sick of the whole "well you're a celeb!!!111 this is what you signed up for !111" argument because why is their responsibility to accept this behavior and why do you think you're ENTITLED to do it?
