KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Poor girl… you can tell all this fame really takes a toll on her mental. I hope she's okay. I fully understand her. Ppl need to give her some space who meet her irl
Popular Post Sheep Posted August 19 Popular Post Posted August 19 (edited) This isn't it sorry. Love her but she's not cut out for fame. Like yes not being able to exist as a private person in public is traumatizing and celebrity as a construct is destructive. She has the power to pull the plug on her career and go get a job in finance or something but is still raking in the checks and bookings from her album. The people who think they know her are the ones paying her bills. I wouldn't personally run up to Gaga or Beyonce and demand their time and attention in public but I wouldn't throw hands at the others going up to them. It's no secret that the only real solution in these scenarios is to remove yourself from public spaces, which is obviously hard as somebody who's not even fully established yet but it really, REALLY, REALLY comes with the territory. Making and posting this video in itself is inserting her into a public space. You don't get heaps of praise and adoration and money just for existing and then give up nothing except some studio sessions and live performances in return, there ARE trade-offs, it's a JOB. There's a reason all of our favs try to make themselves scarce and unknowable outside of working hours. Edited August 19 by Sheep 70 29 5
wraith Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Speak on it Chappell Hope she is okay and has support around her. 10
taylor__fan Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I feel bad for her because it doesn't seem like she is going to be able to handle fame that easily, and I understand because it must be very difficult. 9 1
Popular Post punisher Posted August 19 Popular Post Posted August 19 i get what's she's saying to an extent but why is she acting like asking for a photo or a hug is "creepy behaviour" and makes us villains to society yes, no one is entitled to a photo but they're not creepy or stalkers cause they asked you for one. and she has to understand she's not a random girl anymore 30 19
GardenPanty Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I think it's sweet when celebs actually make time to meet / take pics with fans. But I get that no one's entitled to that. You shouldn't be harassed because you say no. I don't think this girl is cut out for fame 3 1
sha-nasty Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Girl would you get mad if a random stranger got mad that you got mad?
Billionaire Posted August 19 Posted August 19 (edited) I mean she's right but that's just what comes with fame. She speaks out on stuff like this alot I don't see her being the Main Pop Girl everyone wants her to be....she clearly isn't a fan of the fame and probably preferred life before she blew up a ton and that's okay. Edited August 19 by Billionaire
Popular Post GardenPanty Posted August 19 Popular Post Posted August 19 And also- I'm sick of this girl. All she does is complain about being famous. Getting hostile because someone asked you for a photo in public? She comes across as very entitled 34 15

People need to understand she isn't like Olivia or Sabrina. Chappell always lived a true normal girl life. She wasn't on a TV show, she didnt grow up with parents in the industry. She literally exploded to megastardom in months. She was literally working in a drive-thru in 2021 after she got dropped because Pink Pony Club flopped in 2020. This social shift would be too much to handle for everyone, especially for someone with zero experience in the industry. Edited August 19 by KatyPrismSpirit 34 6
Popular Post WEEKND Posted August 19 Popular Post Posted August 19 Who are we to tell her how she should feel. if she don't like it she don't like it. I think we were raised with poised pop stars like Beyoncé, Britney and Rihanna who entertained our foolishness and look how they re behaving today. Especially Rih and Bey they couldn't be more removed from us so maybe this girl has a point. Bop to their music cry if u must and if u see them irl wave and keep it moving. 22 5

James_Dean Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I don't want to be mean, but she comes off a bit naive in the recent interviews I've seen. I wish her the best of luck trying to balance the worlds of normality and fame 9

Popular Post Pop Art Posted August 19 Popular Post Posted August 19 The more I see her talk about things related to fame, the more I'm starting to get turned off by her if I'm being honest. She's 100% valid in what she's saying and feeling, but the manner in which she talks about these things makes it seem like she has some type of resentment towards the people that listen to and love her and also the people just getting into her (not this clip, but a recent interview), and it just doesn't sit well with me. I feel like she's often projecting anger about various aspects of her career and it's starting to sour her for me a bit; it almost feels like she's ungrateful for and perhaps even angry about the rise she's seen recently. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting or misunderstanding her, but the more she talks about these sorts of things, the more I feel it. I'm glad she's seeing success, but I think she should seriously reevaluate her career path if she's already feeling these things. 29 2 1
Femininomenon Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I get her point but I can also see why some people will get mad over this, my girl needs media training asap 8
Edonis Posted August 19 Posted August 19 I hope she has a good support system around her and someone to help her navigate the fame. There are ways for celebrities to basically disappear off the face of the earth if they don't want to be seen in the public. 1
Bubble Tea Posted August 19 Posted August 19 "I don't give a **** if you think it's selfish of me to say no for a photo or your time or a hug. It's not normal, it's weird how people think you see a person online or like the art that they make." Tell them! 1 minute ago, Femininomenon said: I get her point but I can also see why some people will get mad over this, my girl needs media training asap No!!!!!!!!!!! We don't want more fake curated pop stars! 7 4 2 2

I imagine her exact time right now is the single most difficult in a new celebrity's life, when they're adjusting to fame. I doubt there is a single person alive who didn't completely struggle and feel like they'd lost control of their life. I hate how people dehumanize celebrities and act like they should have this magical ability to transcend what is normal, natural and reasonable because of the world's obsession with and envious feelings towards a celebrity. There is nothing anyone could do to prepare for what it feels like to have stalkers, to be harassed by tens of thousands of people online and to have your family stalked. 39
VelvetCrush Posted August 19 Posted August 19 What she's saying is valid and I think that she's talking about the people who are weird not fans who act normally. That being said hopefully she soon comes to term with the fact that this comes along with the fame and money she's getting and chooses to either accept it or puts the break on the things that push her to mainstream sucess. 1
