BrokenMachine Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I don't like the snippet. But whatever makes her happy
KBax Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Not a huge fan of it, but I'm pretty picky with ballads. Also, this is just a promotional song for the documentary so for the ones saying it's going to flop, kick rocks. Will need the hear the whole thing, but it's meh for me so far. I was expecting it to be more upbeat honestly, but oh well

pinkbowvintage Posted September 11 Posted September 11 As a Demi stan who has every single unreleased and has seen her live multiple times, I am whelmed by the preview. Maybe it's a grower. I will be watching though!
Minto Posted September 11 Posted September 11 something is missing idk but her vocal delivery should've been softer imo and the melody feels clunky….i miss her unbroken/demi era ballads so bad now oak is credited on every fkn one she does 1
Freakshowvato Posted September 11 Author Posted September 11 All i know is Demi should definitely do more ballads. I am excited for tomorrow night release

Now this... she really needs to switch it up, because there's things that just aren't working. Hopefully there's variety on her new album because I'm sick of Oak 1
Freakshowvato Posted September 12 Author Posted September 12 The full thing is way better than the snippet 1

Dolce Vita Posted September 12 Posted September 12 yeah her work with oak peaked in TMYLM era. she's in desperate need of a creative overhaul, the material she's given just doesn't do her voice justice 1
KBax Posted September 12 Posted September 12 After hearing the full song, it's alright. It's better than I thought it'd be, but it's not for me. She sounds really great on it though. I don't hate it, it's just not something I'll listen to on the regular. The beginning was giving Glee vibes... I was like wtf sis
Pink Ranger Posted September 12 Posted September 12 She's a grower for sure, but the messaging behind it is so good, Demi knows how to tug on the ol' heartstrings

She's said many, many times that the industry exhausts her and she's sick of trying to be a pop girl or compete that way. She just wants to release music she's proud of. This is cute but it's not hitting me yet. It doesn't have the same "oomph" as her usual ballads.

I know things always get scrapped but I agree TMLYM was her peak musically. There are several solidddd albums and singles tucked away in the shelves of her discography. It's kind of baffling some of the weak songs she releases (Commander in Chief, I Love Me, etc.) while she sits on complete gems, but I guess that's most artists. HelloLovato Posted September 13 Posted September 13 (edited) I hate to say this, but I don't really like this at all.. the lyrics are great, but the production is not. she needs to work with someone besides Oak. Love their friendship, but not anything since some of the HF songs. She should work with Mitch Allan more again. Edited September 13 by HelloLovato
