anastaciabby Posted October 6 Posted October 6 i saw this today and it became one of my favorite movies ever they did alot of references to other horror movies and the way they were able to make it all flow into the story was insanely good I hope anyone that didn't like it does rewatch it as it has a lot of stuff going on that you may not catch in the background and the way it did so many themes too: addiction in general, the industry, beauty, self hate, obsession, men (I love that they had a male friend that found her beautiful and how she immediately discarded his opinion because of the self hate), women, etc. It was too good 4 1
Enrique523 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I just ADORE this film, one of the best body horror movies ever made. It's gonna be a huge cult classic for years to come. 4 1
RT Air Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I'm still thinking about the movie two days later, and certainly not only because of the striking (to say the least) visual content, but also because it raises so many interesting questions and topics way beyond ageism and beauty standards, such as generational differences and responsibilities… I also loved how – although briefly – men weren't excluded from the subject matter either, I didn't even think about it at first, but the male nurse was a nice touch that basically acknowledged that men can also fall victim to the same thing. Seriously considering seeing it for a 2nd time 6
HEIDI Posted October 6 Posted October 6 this movie was amazing. probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. 4
NoAngelus Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I seriously hope industry stands behind Demi and supports her with a nom, she deserves it. And I hope this brings even more work to Margaret, I've been keeping an eye on her ever since The Nice Guys. Great to see both young ladies from The Nice Guys having big movies this year. P.S. Watch The Nice Guys if you haven't. 5
blaggot Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I'm literally leaving the theater right now and had to come comment on how ****ing insane that was AMAZING! 4

aahaspider Posted October 7 Posted October 7 A Box-Office word-of-mouth indie hit. Now, we'll just need the Oscars to come through for Demi. 4

This is why it infuriates me that it's already being released digitally this month. It has only just started gaining momentum, has excellent word-of-mouth promo, but for some reason studios are no longer willing to allow a movie to grow gradually, they just push it to VOD if it doesn't make a profit in two weeks. 8

Lorelei Posted October 9 Posted October 9 (edited) This movie lives rent free in my head ever since i watched it, completely unprepared for the wild ride. The third act is actually the culmination of the craziness that's been slowing building up throughout the film, a combination of drama, comedy and horror at once with strong symbolism in the NY Eve taping and the closing scene. It's better to have a film go too far instead of not going anywhere at all. MOVIE OF THE YEAR Edited October 9 by Lorelei 4
