Cloröx Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I was gaggling so hard, the movie is so messy probably the messiest since Mother! Truly a masterpiece, 11/10
alexrex Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I saw it on Friday. Left me speechless, it has a lot of symbolism and some interesting message about self-esteem, women in entertainment and genetic modification. And a bunch of blood. Solid film
TalkThatRihanna Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Great movie, felt like a good Black Mirror movie Ending was meh 1
TouchinFree Posted November 4 Posted November 4 The concept was CRAZY. Could be applied to all of us and our lifestyle NOW, Just amazing and incredibly relatable. Nudity was necessary but overkill for me. I just HATE nudity tbh big turn off for me and this film had it 95% The ending though 2

I don't see what the problem is with me being curious about this movie and wanting to see the highlights It's a movie, a very good one at that. The fact that you're fiending for basically a tiktok summarization with cliffnotes of a movie that's not subtle at all but very in your face and on the nose with it's message just makes you come across as extremely lazy and having an attention span issue. How you interpret us telling you to enjoy watching a great movie in It's entirety so you can experience it with the intention that it was made with as nasty and rude is just beyond me. This movies was good, weird, gory and overall sadden. Well, it's been a while since we have a body horror as good as this. Loved that those movements were the same movements from Elisabeth's aerobics video. They are one and the same. Love the subtle full circle moments in this movie. 1
allforyou Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I watched this movie last week and it was amazing The theater was full (something that I hadn't seen in quite a while) and the audience rightfully clapped in the end. Some of the scenes literally made my mouth drop. I wasn't familiar with Demi as an actress but she was fantastic in this, it would be awesome if she got nominated for an Oscar I'm gonna watch some of her older movies now. 3
EnterTheAttic Posted November 7 Posted November 7 I still can't get my mind off of this masterpiece! 1
Arcadia Posted November 7 Posted November 7 i get that it's a satire but some of the acting/line deliveries were so bad i feel like it wasn't intentional.

This is not a movie that's supposed to be very realistic, you have to suspend your disbelief. Yea also the answer is coz shes HOT Hollywood bends over the rules
Nido Posted November 8 Posted November 8 This movie has everything that points towards it becoming a gay classic! Divas, hot bodies, camp, horror and comedy. I've seen it twice and I loveeee the sound effects added to some of the scenes, making them even more uncomfortable than they already are. You wouldn't feel the same watching at home compared to being in the theater and seeing how many layers there are to it. It gets so stimulating and explosive (literally) towards the end to the point where I had to continue eating cold popcorn to calm myself down as things unfold on the big screen. Definitely a 10/10 movie.
Roberto Posted November 9 Posted November 9 This was so wild, probably the hardest movie to watch ever, especially towards the end. Spoiler I lost it at the t*** scene. What the **** was that? Overall, 10/10 movie, can't believe it's almost 2.5 hours long, you just don't feel it at all.
Evans Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I feel like this movie is everywhere; it really took the world by storm Do you guys think that with the box office success this movie is having, it has a better shot at the Oscars—in categories other than Best Actress, which seems more likely every day that passes? 3

I doubt it. MUBI would have to invest a LOT into a campaign and I doubt they have those resources. Hereditary e.g. had even better box office success and huge cultural reception and still was shut out of the Oscars, even if it had the best performance of the year in it and this movie is MUCH weirder. The Oscars hate genre films. The absolute best I could see is a SFX nom, but I would love to eat my words. 2

Demi Moore is a much bigger hollywood star than Tony Collete, She will get nominated and possibly win.

I'll give you the very small possibility of a nomination but a win is out of the question. Mikey Madison has the breakout star narrative, Angelina Jolie the bio-film narrative, Saoirse Ronan the intimate drama narrative, Karla Sofia Gascon being a possible first trans woman winner... Demi Moore has a comeback narrative, but in a movie that, quite frankly, basically none of the Academy will vibe with. and again, Mubi is not a strong campaign force, unlike any other of these candidates.
Evans Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I feel like the cultural impact this movie is having is way bigger than any recent horror/genre film. I mean, it hadn't even been out for two months, and you were already seeing Halloween costumes all over the world on social media. I know that might not mean much to the Academy, but the people will RIOT if they don't acknowledge it in some way. Ugh, this deserves like at least 6 nominations, let's hope it pulls an EEAAO and surprise everybody 2
Alaska. Posted November 9 Posted November 9 What a weird and fantastic movie. Some people at the theater even clapped at the end, and I don't remember the last time I witnessed that 1

chiliam Posted Saturday at 03:25 PM Posted Saturday at 03:25 PM (edited) This is Movie of the year. At 1st i didnt like the ending but after thinking about it and watch some tik tok. I appreciate the campiness. And it made the movie stuck in my head after like 10 days already. Magaret has such a great screen presence. This will give her more juicy roles. And Demi is incredible. ICLDXU4HS Posted Saturday at 03:56 PM Posted Saturday at 03:56 PM Demi being nominated would be a huge win and possibly open doors for genre film noms in the acting field in the future... That's where it ends and that's okay. 8 hours ago, LittleStarmen said: Demi Moore is a much bigger hollywood star than Tony Collete, She will get nominated and possibly win. Toni is a way more respected and acclaimed character actress and generally agreed upon to be under-rewarded. Demi is more like a surprise "she did THAT" moment from an actress that was invisible for 2 decades and no one looked at as outstanding before... It's different. 5
