Ok, it's definitely giving AOTY for me.

Following the great feedbacks, the mixtape is now #17 on Apple Music US and #19 on iTunes US

Do you think it will chart in the BB200 ?

Wait, how did nobody tell me this is giving female To Pimp a Butterfly?!?

The influences from Kendrick, Kanye and Doja are there, tho Doechii manages to fuse these influences and create her own sound. This is SUBLIME!

Im glad that she's finally getting her flowers and was able to get a body of work out. Now can her label get their **** together and drop her debut album asap

Doechii and Doja should really collaborate.

They love and respect each other so much.

This isn't her debut?

If this is "just" a mixtape, what the hell are we in store for when she releases her debut album? :jonny5:

So is she saving Alter Ego for the album, I could've sworn it was going to be on this?

Not to be too much of a downer but considering it's taken this long to even get a mixtape out, the album will probably be serving a label compromised mess at the very least... The fact she's telling us multiple times that she's been fighting with label execs on her sonic direction and sacrificed sm already leading up to this release says enough (really re-read that announcement post guys) but I really hope everyone can get it together and come through in the end. Sometimes the label just needs to support the art and What it is was already a hit. Mind you, the album was mastered in June 2023 before being delayed + shelved to hell and now she said that version of the album isn't coming out anymore. She's essentially starting fresh following this mixtape drop, which could be in our best interest! I hope for the best, but am anticipating the worst. Let me just say I hope TDE takes the reigns over Capitol in terms of what sounds she should be creating. :heart2:

I wish we somehow got to listen to the shelved album. I'm curious. I'm sure there were at least a couple of good songs there.

RT. BOOM BAP is fire but it makes me sad listening to it cause all I hear is pain. She's clearly being limited and dismissed by TDE and it's crazy when she's more of a visionary than anyone there, dare I even say that includes my girl Solana. Doechii has IT. And I don't think TDE or Capitol believes in her enough or maybe understands her enough to help her show that to the world.

Rap Alert on X: "Doechii teases the track-list to her debut album. https://t.co/ljUuyjCd1o" / X

Good news (in a bittersweet way) is that we got almost half of it!

SWEAT was also teased/supposed to be the next single before they decided to go with ROCKET, really hope this one sees the light of day.

Yeah I have a feeling everyone's playing in her face because the music isn't selling and unfortunately no one seems to know what to do with her, a case all too familiar to miss Azealia Banks (whether we want to admit it or not) which frankly is so disappointing that the exact same thing is happening 10 years later. The industry is so backwards idk. Like I said, I'm hoping for the best, Doechii is a true talent and she can go far with a label or independently. I did notice I didn't see too many TDE in-house producers (no Sounwave was shocking) on the mixtape credits however, instead noticing a lot of up and coming producers, so I'm intrigued to see how much they actually had a hand in curating this mixtape in particular or if Doechii just brought it to them and said "let me put this out".

didn't know it was out. let me check it.

doechii's situation is clear as the air. she's not marketable. the label tried to market her as a rapper, then they tried to market her as a r&b singer and it goes. nothing has worked and I don't think it's the route that she needs to take.

she really needs to put material out there and start touring, create her fanbase that provides her to keep releasing new material as the time goes by. maybe there will be a song that will blow up because of TikTok... basically a RAYE route. she's truly in a more difficult path than RAYE because rappers/black artists tend to be more local to US, so more difficult to have a breakout WW song.

anyways I hope she finds her place and doesn't get azealia-ed.

I don't think we should expect the album any time soon.

And... we can say the second half of the mixtape it's just scrapped songs initially inentioned to be part of the album.

I like her voice and her bits in the new Katy Perry song so I'm going to give a chance to her mixtape and listen to see if I like her music too.

I need them to push Nissan Altima as a proper single . Arguably one of the best rap songs of the year imo , and a HIT !

Well, actually, NISSAN ALTIMA is being played on Urban Radios and Rhytmic.

It broke the Top 50 on Urban 2 days ago though !
