theweekend Posted August 16 Posted August 16 kind of tired of her. she's not serving anymore since persuasive. it's been years since. though the cover is dope 1
aleksanderbgu Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Not happy about this not being the album but excited that we are getting more music. I'll take it even if it is a mixtape.
Sabandija Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I really want to hear this album. I hope she's keeping the A-list collabos for the actual album.
Wicked Posted August 21 Posted August 21 https://doechii.lnk.to/ABNH pre-save/add. Can't wait. TDE's artist development is the best in hip hop currently. A mixtape is a good way to gain interest in her before a more fleshed out album comes around, and she's really rapping on here which has already gained interest in her outside of the "female rap girlies" bubble. 1
KatyPrismSpirit Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Odd she didn't put Alter Ego or What It Is on here.
Sabandija Posted August 23 Posted August 23 I just realised Sunday's Best is not part of the tracklist

I think an album was supposed to have the best tracks, singles, videos and promotion whilst a mixtape had more left-field tracks with no promotion attached. I think mixtapes allow artist to have more creative freedom and be experimental. But nowadays it feels just a way to avoid being considered a flop if the project doesn't succeed. 3
Alex Posted August 27 Posted August 27 it's almost infuriating considering her album was mastered and ready to go in june 2023 (tracklist was posted and everything) but overwhelming commercial expectations and a lack of promotion will guarantee that an album will be shelved, scrapped and another one will be ready in 1-2 years down the line. Couple that with the fact that one of her labels already are funding album releases for Ice Spice and Katy Perry this year, who we both know will have tragic ROIs, there's basically no budget or support left for Doechii on any front.
Sabandija Posted August 29 Posted August 29 I was hoping there were any R&B-pop leaning tracks like What It Is, Persuasive, Girls Night Out or even Sunday's Best... but no. Maybe Slide and Beverly Hills. I'll wait to hear the album in full. https://music.apple.com/nz/album/alligator-bites-never-heal/1763934442

I'm trusting her on this one. 1
collin Posted August 29 Posted August 29 At least she's getting a project out! I'll be tuning in. Female rap is a bit saturated right now anyways, give the girl another crossover banger and roll the album out in 2025. I'll be annoyed if she doesn't tack What It Is and Alter Ego to the album though. 1
pearlmercury Posted August 29 Posted August 29 i came into this album with zero expectation but this album is fire
TryMe Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Hmmm I don't think I will like this, same with Scarlet. Skipp sounds like a save already 2
masochizm Posted August 29 Posted August 29 perched for this, really dislike boom bap as a track but I know there will be some gems on here! 1
Scandalous Posted August 29 Posted August 29 so excited to finally have a full project but i definitely wish the actual album came first….it's obviously not coming until next year now of course she's my fav of the newer rap girls but there's so much wasted hype 1
Wicked Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Rap media is promoting this tape more than I even seen them do for other female rappers dropping a project. Ebro, bloggers, news pages, everybody. 3
