"2024, please stop" Katy Perry pleaded. Then Katy Perry collapsed and died.

The longer she drags this unwanted era out, the worse it's going to get for her.

Enough is enough.

I'm fed up with the relentless attacks from the media aimed at tearing down a woman. I was frustrated and disappointed when she worked with Dr. Luke, and I felt that the music didn't offer anything new. However, what's happening now has gone too far.

Kesha has had her moments of shading Katy in recent months, seemingly enjoying her downfall. But let's be real—we don't know if Katy was contractually obligated to work with Dr. Luke or what other pressures she might be facing behind the scenes. There could be NDAs or contracts that we're not privy to. We just don't know.

That said, I can't stand when men write articles labeling a woman as a "has-been," "cringe," or "over." This is the same kind of sexist media tactics that have brought down other women before, and it's nothing short of toxic "woke" bullying.

Men in the industry don't face the same level of scrutiny or repercussions for their actions, even when they repeat them over and over and over. So why should Katy Perry's career end on this note—because of a man? I didn't see the same level of outrage when Kim Petras was releasing her tacky albums either.

With all this in mind, I suddenly feel compelled to stream the hell out of 143, and I hope Katy can live her best life.

And for the rest of you, go see yourselves in the mirror and touch some grass, this selective woke-ism ain't cute.

This hate train is absolutely disgusting. Every fandon who had to live this hell happening with their fave shouldn't be here laughing. It's up to you to support Katy's career and choices, but kicking her like that? What's the point? Why everyone has to be so mean with a popstar that is not your fave? Pop music is NOT the soccer for gays. You can actually have your fave but contrary to soccer, you also can also enjoy other popstar's songs, and even recognize when they were superior in an album or song. Why everything ends with these attacks? Stan culture is tired. Stop feeding this.

Where is the reading comprehension? The article is literally defending Katy Perry :rip:

I don't get the online bullying towards Katy or Jlo.

They aren't the most original artists ever obviously but they've worked hard and have a vast catalogue of hits.

Not everyone is obsessed with the hot 100...

Quite a while ago, Katy Perry was fighting with some nuns over a house in a trial and one of the nuns' last words to her were "Katy Perry, please stop" before she literally collapsed and died. :skull: something like that, from what I remember.

OT: Girl is really getting a lot of heat for this era. Was working with Dr Luke worth all this backlash?

I would feel sorry for her but knowing she keeps working with Dr Luke after the whole trial debacle + other pop girls coming forward about how abusive he is, only for her to release "Woman's World" produced by him so she can call it later "satire" due to backlash … apparently other women's issues are a joke for her.

Maybe it will be better for her on her new era, that's if she'll even want to release more music after this disaster of an era.

We absolutely do know that Katy has no contract with Dr. Luke and that the decision to work with him again was 100% her own free choice.

That "downfall" is entirely self-inflicted due to her choice of collaborators, bad music, cringe behavior and desperation :rip:. Kesha has been very polite about this situation since she legally can not say anything negative about Dr. Luke anymore. If she could freely say whatever she wants, I'm sure she would drag Katy a lot harder than she did which would be 100% deserved. If I was in her shoes, I definitely wouldn't be as polite as she was.

You claim to be against the tearing down of women yet by defending Katy from being dragged for willingly working with an alleged rapist and misogynist, you're indirectly supporting that man. If Katy didn't want the backlash then maybe she shouldn't have worked with Dr. Luke on this album in the first place. :celestial5:

Katy Perry's downfall really needs to be a topic of study.

They are 100% right about the narrative being set. people have made up their minds, no matter what Katy does at this point it will be ridiculed.

They should shift into a more low-key release strategy for the era, some videos and singles with quiet releases mostly promoted exclusively on her socials, no fan fare or extremely noticeable promo, tour if she really wants to tour and let 143 era die quietly.

Whether it's true or not isn't the point. Once a narrative is established, every and any event is interpreted in a way that confirms it.

This is so true.

But acting anyone is checking for Charli is too funny.

If Katy hadn't gone to Dr. Luke, I'd be inclined to have some sympathy. But she brought so much of this built up animosity on herself, and I don't have any.

The best thing she could do atp is cancel the album. Release an apology for her lapse in judgement / working with Luke.

Disappear for a year.

Write a more acoustic/rock leaning album like OOTB and try to have an 'arts not charts' era. Maybe regain some GP respect and good will. Shed her desperate aging popstar image.

Idk it's probably a lost cause.

This is exactly what a hate bandwagon looks like. And it's happening by the same people who claim to be feminists and kind-hearted. I highly doubt her working with Luke suddenly fueled everyone with so much hatred toward her as if they are Kesha herself who's the only one who can unquestionably feel so extremely about her. It has gone beyond well deserved harsh criticism atp

100% this. I was rooting for her right until the moment it was revealed that she went back to Puke for a female empowerment song. literal worms for brains.

she deserves every single lashing she's getting now :sorry:
