Lagerfeld Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) Both artists are notorious for their acclaimed music. Taylor with Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and TTPD. Frank with Blonde & Channel Orange. Who exhibits superior artistry? Edited August 14 by Lagerfeld 1 6

Bartender Posted August 14 Posted August 14 You can't even compare them especially Frank since he hasn't released in forever 2

And they were all a reward for her comercial success my hun. Very little to do with her so-called 'artistry'. This is so insulting to actual talent like Frank 3 1
dumbsparce Posted August 14 Posted August 14 If Frank released as often as Taylor I'm pretty sure he'd serve some duds too. And if you cherry picked 12 songs from the last 10 Taylor albums you'd have yourself an amazing album too. Little does that have to do with how skilled these 2 are.

Wicked Posted August 14 Posted August 14 Frank Oceans music is objectively more acclaimed. One institution (Grammys) doesn't outweigh the amount of year end lists, decade end lists, all time lists, 95 on MC, etc,. Frank is listed on. He's one of the most acclaimed artists of the 2010s lol. Superior artistry is up to the listener. Personally I think he's a superior lyricist and more adventurous with his songwriting as far as the arrangements and instrumentation goes. So I would say he has better artistry to me. I have a similar amount of scrobbles for both of them despite the fact Frank has released much less work too so...

Not to mention that Frank didn't even submit Blonde to the Grammys, so there's no possible comparison there.

Do people genuinely believe Frank's music is lightyears ahead of Taylor (4x AOTY winner) or are they under the spell of his marketing?
