NOW Posted August 9 Posted August 9 I was just browsing it for gift ideas for a friend's upcoming birthday and the results provided were...questionable and disappointing? Most of the stuff popping up look like they are by faceless merchants who use drop shipping methods to have items cheaply created and shipped without ever touching them...but the human craft of it all is what Etsy sellers are known for (or used to be at least)? I suspect this is happening on other popular online stores too like Amazon. How can I bypass all the junk and get shown actual DIY merchants who hand-make each of their products? 4

I always thought it was just nice sweet stay at home mom's and artist selling wholesome things, threw me for a loop
Pavement Princess Posted August 9 Posted August 9 They're focusing on Depop which has a lot more potential and captured the attention of Gen Z.
Big Bad Wolf Posted August 9 Posted August 9 Kind of similar to what happened with Amazon. It's just become a market for wholesellers and others selling cheap products. You can still find sellers on Etsy making creative things but it's few and far in between. Depop & Grailed are better for shopping and also allow people to sell other type of merch.
