Sometimes it's good to have the confirmation so that you can leave and move on without remorse. 
 

I really don't see the big deal about phones in this day and age. They are so ingrained into our lives now that if you want to share your life with a significant other but are uncomfortable with them going through your phone then you are definitely doing something behind their back. No ifs or buts.

Very weird take to me. It's giving shitting on the toilet while your partner is brushing their teeth in the same bathroom levels of nonexistent personal privacy. I would be uncomfortable with anyone going through my phone. Significant other, friend, family member, stranger...

Yeah. I went through my ex's phone and uncovered things. Forgave but never forgot, so checked it two other times in the course of our 2 years together and it was always something there. Not necessarily cheating but definitely inappropriate.

 

It's not something to be proud of at all even if you find what you're looking for. Just end the relationship or discuss your fears openly if you feel like you want to do that.

From my experience, the only people who feel so guarded about someone of trust going thru their phones have really weird stuff they want to hide. 

I never really gave a **** about what others see on my phone. I can perfectly explain everything.

Honestly it was always dumb luck. The first time we were drunk and he passed out with it unlocked. The other two times he was logged into Facebook messenger on his Mac I was using to apply for jobs at the time, then because of those two strikes I checked emails and it was even happening there  just a mess!

I don't think I could ever do monogamy again after my last relationship, in which my boyfriend grabbed my phone out of my hands so regularly that I got scared of even looking at it when we hung out at one point. idk how else to contribute to this convo. I wouldn't ever want any partner to go through my phone ever again, my last ex was so emotionally abusive and scary and TWO-FACED that I just... yeah. monogamy's not for me. it sucks that he cheated on her, but idk what else to say lol
