Lulento Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I am actually shocked. The main suspect's lawyer is trying to downplay all of his actions and is insisting upon that he was just exploring different ideas and never intended to hurt anyone. She said that him admitting the crime was because he's trying to be cool and that he just wanted to build bombs for fun that he can detonate in the woods when no one is around. I hope he doesn't get away with it… Source: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/austrian-taylor-swift-plot-suspects-lawyer-plays-down-attack-plan-2024-08-11/

arithebxbie Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I got home from Vienna yesterday. I feel like I will never get over this and how it happened because I have never been in a life threatening situation in my life before so experiencing this is going to haunt me forever. When I saw the news on Twitter I thought it was fake news and so did my sister, but later we saw it was reposted by Taylor Nation and my heart broke. I didn't cry because I had no idea how to react since I was just grateful I wasn't going to have to worry about my safety during the concert but I know that this might have been my only opportunity to ever see Taylor unless she gives the people who bought tickets for a show in Vienna an opportunity for early tickets for her next tour. It is extremely disgusting that going to see your favorite singer live is seen as an opportunity for some stupid fucks in the world to threaten your life. I know it was obviously the right decision to cancel the tour and I'm actually surprised Taylor is going to have the strength to perform a week after this happened but I pray nothing happens in any of her future shows. 1

fab Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Was the cancellation really needed? In hindsight probably not, but better to be safe than sorry. The decision had to be made with limited information at the time. It's super sad that we didn't get to experience the concert, but we did get a different type of experience. For me it was a super magical experience to be in Vienna that weekend tbh. We will hear from Taylor eventually, ya'll just need to be more patient. There is a LOT going on in the background right now that we don't even know of. Some of ya'll are overreacting tbh. 2 1
lovatos Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I am absolutely disgusted by her behaviour. Not a single word of acknowledgment for the 200k fans who were supposed to see her in Vienna, yet she has time and energy to throw a party. Obviously what happened in Vienna is not her fault, but what is her fault is how she is responding (I mean, NOT responding) to it https://www.instagram.com/p/C-nzfEyhQeM/?igsh=dGM2cXhneHZic3Ri 1
M.R. Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Did anyone receive a refund? Would like to use that money for another trip.

However… in hindsight, I think the least she could've done was say she's heart broken and will speak when she's legally able to. There's nothing wrong with that. Proceeding to say nothing and then go right into touring the next show a weekend later is just weird…..

My guess is that it's likely she was advised not to give a statement in order to not antagonize ISIS and their supporters (like the guys arrested) or give them more publicity which might incentivize more planned attacks. It's a very very delicate situation. The party in question was for her staff and was likely planned a while ago as well, should her staff not get a celebration of their effort because of this? Idk. I just don't think this is a case of "Taylor doesn't care and goes partying!" at all. 1

She doesn't want to risk her money anymore. You people are disgusting. Making this all about a genocidal cop?
