Komet Posted August 5 Posted August 5 The Bank of Japan recently set interest rates at 0.25% - while insignificant elsewhere, it's a big change for Japan where rates have long been 0% or even negative. During those times of near-zero or negative rates, many people saw an opportunity to profit by borrowing Yen and investing it. But now with rising interest rates, these leveraged investments are no longer viable. Investors now need to sell their assets to repay their debts. Basically investors are less likely to invest in Japanese stock rn and it's hurting Japan. As for bitcoin, no1curr about bitcoin. 1
