Charts aren't everything and considering how chart positions don't make artists money, but touring does that says it all

Having a solid and loyal fan base allows you to sell out concerts but once the general public doesn't care to listen and buy your music you're over it's simple.

It means they're "over" as current popular artists and slowly becoming legacy artists. Their new projects won't smash like their peak material but some of them are lucky enough to build a strong and memorable catalogue that will make people want to go see them on tour.

 

By the way, I checked his numbers on Spotify and the album he released last year in September only has... 160m streams :stare:
