If u had been paying attention then you would know that Josh shapiros record was a concern. If she picks tim waltz and not Josh shapiro then she'll be fine. It's about doing the right thing. We are not asking for some crazy thing.

@IBeMe You can add this one too. He said the Palestinians "do not have the capabilities to establish their own homeland" and "they are too battle-minded to be able to establish a peaceful homeland of their own."

Of course he was wrong about Arafat who died from a stroke at age 75, and the right wing in Israel assassinated Rabin.

But some people on ATRL will defend Shapiro, because they want to vote for the IDF volunteer.

Not shocked by his disgusting comments! He keeps getting worse and worse. I'm just happy rthis is all coming to light right now tbh.

I'll try to add it but i'm on mobile rn and Idk if i can edit but thank you for adding it here in the comments. We need everyone to know how horrible Shapiro is...I hope Kamala makes the right choice and chooses Walz :( i'm so worried she'll go for this guy instead

These constantly horrific, far-right opinions. :rip:

If centrists can literally be genocide deniers and still be platformed while leftists are routinely money-bombed out of their seats for having mundane opinions like "poor people shouldn't die for being poor," maybe this privileged idea that people who expect better policy are acting out of purity is in itself completely wrong.

This is one of the craziest posts I've ever read on this website and that is saying something :deadbanana2:

THOSE are what you quote to call a horrific far-right opinion? Get help.

Your purity culture leftism actually helps no one when you pave the way for the actual far-right to win elections because you throw down your sticks. But you got to feel better than other people from your ivory tower and that's what matters, right?

i'm gonna be completely honest for a sec, as an american jewish dude

there is an OBSCENE amount of brainwashing for a majority of ashkenazi jews who go to synagogue as kids that we should be z*onists from a super young age, without even knowing what that means. it's f*cking crazy to think about but it's legit. that's why my ass didn't know what I was talking about until I turned 18 and moved out of my parents' house :rip: because z*onism was promoted nonstop in every f*cking jewish organization i was ever a part of growing up in the DMV. like it's insane to think about it. my judaism was tied intrinsically to z*onism and i didn't realize that being a z*onist was a bad f*cking thing until I got to college and started TRULY thinking for myself. and yes I know saying that makes me sound like a pompous former philosophy major but lo and behold I am exactly that :dies:

I know the word "brainwashing" can easily be seen as a buzzword or something that people should look out for, but as a hardcore lefty socialist I am saying this with my full chest that I can't think of a better word to describe the mindsets thrust upon us at an impressionable age :cm: so yes it very much sucks and is a disappointment that this dude is a f*cking z*onist but as a culturally jewish person I can't be fully surprised :michael:

^ furthermore, there are people like my mother (who I love unconditionally) who are just too far gone to let themselves unlearn bigotry. it f*cking sucks because I like to think that as an old man someday I'll still want to be able to unlearn and process and excogitate and better myself, but not everyone functions that way unfortunately 🫠

Brave to share, thank you!

I grew up in the Bible Belt south and often am afraid/embarrassed to share the brainwashing I experienced as a young person, but it helps contextualize.

You're proving my point that you have such a reactionary view of progressivism that you can't even read criticisms correctly.

I didn't say your opinion was far-right. I said your opinion is the result of what happens when the far-right wins. That you aid the far-right by moving along with them as they shift the Overton window to the right more and more. And that you're not even aware of it even when reality shows how this artificial paradigm you've accepted in your head is not true: ie: "Leftists are radical puritans.. but this guy they hate IS a genocide denier, wow..."

Do you not see the contradiction? Leftists somehow are demanding moral purity yet you concede the views we're criticizing are objectively harmful?

Is it demanding moral purity to ask people not racialize Arabs as "barbaric"?

Is it demanding moral purity to ask that American tax dollars at some point stop flowing to a country that international courts find is committing genocide?

Is it demanding moral purity to ask politicians address the material needs of people through policy?

Leftists aren't invoking moral purity. You've just been convinced by reactionary liberalism that electoral politics is - ironically - a moral duty and not the transactional process American liberal politicians are constantly failing to deliver at in order to win elections. So thus leftists demanding they get something for voting are somehow acting out of "moral purity" and not making a negotiation like how voting is meant to work.

If she already chose shapiro behind the scenes I hope all the news coming out about him makes her drop him quick. This is an easy way of ruining your momentum.
