IBeMe Posted August 2 Posted August 2 A article he wrote in college came out. He wrote it a day after the Oslo peace accords when everyone was positive about a potential peace plan for Israel and Palestine. He said Arabs cannot establish their own countries, said they only know war and combat (basically calling them all bruts and violent), he said that Palestinians were just a collection of other types of Arabs coming together to unit under the Palestinian identity (something used by Israel to justify stealing Palestinian land) and it was exposed that he volunteered for the IDF at the time: 3

DevilsRollTheDice Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Damn...That Tweet made some points!!! I'm very excited about Kamala's bid and have really seen the light when it comes to performative leftist activism that is really purity culture redressed, but I will be upset if he is her pick. What an easy way to dissolve the heaven sent goodwill. 5
Achilles. Posted August 2 Posted August 2 He's the worst option on the shortlist for a dozen different reasons and it will be such an unnecessary self-inflicted wound if she picks him. 3

If she does end up going for Shapiro it will be the most obvious example of big money intervention. It will be because some big donor will have personally requested he be her VP for their own economical and political goals. She really should consider Bashear or Walz tbh. Those two are effective communicators and can attract white american older men which is the demo she needs right now. Josh is an excellent orator and I can see him eventually running for the presidency in the future BUT he has too much baggage around him imo and he will 100% kill some of the excitement around Kamala....it will also push away a lot of the more left leaning people who form a huge chunk of her base at the moment not because we like her but out of desperation to not get Trump in....having a candidate who clearly supports genocide as her VP will turn so many off...maybe not enough to get her to lose the presidential race but enough to make the race a SUPER close call 3

Into The Void Posted August 3 Posted August 3 (edited) Why do people take words and actions people said 30 yrs ago as to reasons why they are bad people? Like have you not changed since you were 20? I don't know much about any of the candidates I hope she makes a wise decision Edited August 3 by Into The Void 1 2
JoJo Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I know that Pennsylvania is an important state to win, but Shapiro has way too much baggage. Besides being horrendously racist against Palestinians and his involvement with the IDF, his office also did a horrible job handling sexual harassment complaints, and he allegedly suppressed a murder investigation (search up Ellen Greenberg). It'd be absolutely insane if Kamla chose him instead of Walz, Beshear, or even Kelly. 3
Communion Posted August 3 Posted August 3 ddd pointing out the hypocrisy of trying to distance himself from his 20-year-old self while being defined in the race to VP by him comparing today's 20-year-olds to the KKK for being pro-Palestine is actually a great argument. 4

So people believing they're a better person if they're (celibate) outspoken about leftist social issues?

While I LOVE Pete's intelligence and quick tongue (he claps back so well) it would be a MASSIVE risk having him as her running mate. She is a woman of color and he is a gay man...it's a historic ticket BUT it may be too much to attract the centrist voters who are flocking to Kamala right now. He'd be better suited to serve in her team...maybe he can take Anthony Blinken's position as her secretary of state / foreign minister. He speaks like 7 languages and is VERY intelligent. I feel like he would bring the US a lot of respect internationally. Edited August 3 by IBeMe 3

What an easy way to dissolve the heaven sent goodwill. These constantly horrific, far-right opinions. If centrists can literally be genocide deniers and still be platformed while leftists are routinely money-bombed out of their seats for having mundane opinions like "poor people shouldn't die for being poor," maybe this privileged idea that people who expect better policy are acting out of purity is in itself completely wrong. 1
GhostBox Posted August 3 Posted August 3 He's gonna be the vp pick so get out your frustrations now 😂 1

Waltz is why she needs to pick based on his record. 1 1
Distantconstellation Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Picking Shapiro is a great way of ending all the positive press Kamala has been getting. Shapiro comes with a lot of baggage and twitter is already going after him, I hope she reconsiders and picks waltz because Shapiro can sink her campaign. Leave him in Pennsylvania. 1
