I expected the dolls to look more sophisticated like they do with their collector editions tbh

Why make the role your own when you can just mimic Kristin C's version?

Ariana, let's get it together.

Same! Pretty disappointed with the lack of the details, especially the dress.

So that people could say that she can not act and she's just playing herself? :bird:

It's most likely the regular playline budget doll, and they can release the collector version later.

She had a chance to show Glinda -Ari's version- in a MUSICAL. For SONGS. Acting doesn't even come into the conversation. I'm personally disappointed because this role was the one I was sure she'd use to prove to people that she's a talent. And she is, but she's quite literally using all of KC's mannerisms.

there are clear ari-isms on display while being faithful to the character

a "MUSICAL" isn't about an artist covering "SONGS" - it's about acting as the character who can sing

In the best way possible and as an Ari stan, she adopts alot about the people around her and its fine! Its clear she got KC's blessing because she's also honoring KC's Glinda, I was just wanting way more Ari. I'm still not put off, though.

that's fair, she is quite a chameleon

I just think it's more than appropriate for this kind of role

Does the Glinda doll come in different hair and skin colors?

The marketing has been impressive and all consuming so far; we are still months away and I'm getting Barbie campaign flashbacks. The press tour is going to be something else and I can already see the flood of merchandise that will be on sale / brand deals the closer we get.

Also Ari sounds fantastic and in character? The nitpicking.
