Ciara f/ BossMan Dlow - "Run It Up"

I think the CiCi ep was a step in the right direction. I liked 4/7 songs so I think she's definitely capable of making decent music.

Maybe she should release a Greatest Hits and build off that.

Absolutely not necessary at all especially for of all people to give us a greatest hits album in 2024. She just needs to be more consistent with putting out quality should be her only focus. As far as I'm concerned I don't mind her touring again with Missy since they're a match made in musical heaven

Songs that she should be performing and stop paying dust in live performances:

C1: Hotline

C2: Can't Leave Em Alone, That's Right

C3: Pucker Up, Work, Turntables, Keep Dancin On Me, Tell Me What Your Name Is, Echo, I'm On

C4: Turn It Up

C5: I'm Out, Overdose, Livin It Up, Sorry

C6: Dance Like We're Making Love, Give Me Love, Kiss And Tell

C7: Freak Me, NaNa

C8: BRB

Some of these songs unfortunately underperformed, weren't promoted and or would've been a great single for her to secure another hit and explore other sounds. These are the type of songs she should be trying to recreate and continue to make and explore!

Her DJ collabs have also shown that their is so much untapped potential still. Get Up by R3HAB and Fantasy which was posted here are underrated gems

No, A Greatest hits album is not needed.....especially in the streaming era.

She just needs to stop making corporate music......and make some real R&B/urban music with mature lyrics.

I love this :flame: The contrast between the cutesy pre and the raging hook is so good

Aside from Better Thangs, I've been loving all her singles since going independent

While I don't always understand Ciaras releases - This does actually seem like a "Promo/Buzz" song.

No video, no lyric video etc. It's better than Da Girls :chick2:

She just needs to stop the rapping. The difference between her rapping and the "Driving way too fast..." that follows right after is huge. The pre-chrous part is so much better :coffee:

Buzz single or not this is an outdated mess and she's treating it like a real single release and wasting her money. I just feel that her being the veteran that she is in her journey we don't have room for this type of stuff. She's just wasting her money and she's upsetting fans. There's no way her paying for the feature and production she will even see a profit. What's the point?

She's not treating it like a real single. Did she even link to the song in any socials? :rip:

Working with the same producer she most likely barely paid for it as well. I see this as when she released Rooted, Melanin etc.

If she wanted a single out of the three songs she should have went with Wassup.

She's promoting this more than she has promoted some of her main singles in the past. And even if this was just a buzz track paying for a feature just seems like she really believes in this record. Also you can put out a "buzz" track that connects with people and this song is clearly not doing that. The whole point to put out a buzz track is create buzzzzz and the only buzz this is attracting is from the 10 fleas (her 10 Stans) that applaud anything she does and don't hold her accountable for the trash she's been putting out.

1. Goodies

2. Get Up

3. Oh

4. Wassup with Busta Rhymes

5. Ride

6. Body Party

7. Promise

8. Love, Sex And Magic*

9. I Bet

10. I'm Out*

11. Dance Like We're Making Love

12. How Well Roll

13. Like A Boy

14. Level Up

Then a medley with Missy as the last act/encore stage with One Two Step, Work and Lose Control as a medley

If she's smart she'd secure another Missy collab and a Timbaland production

The instrumental underneath the "driving way too fast" section really reminds me of another song. Can anyone help trigger my memory?

Trying to re-create nostalgia never works.

The song is passively being accepted by fans because that's what they always do but the general public is not feeling it. They are dragging it mainly because of the rapping part. It's corny and unauthentic.

Tbh I don't get why she does not stick to mid-tempo/sensual songs. That is where she shines and it's her lane :coffee:

Low Key was one of the best songs on the CiCi EP.

Honestly at this point, I'm calling it for what it is.......she's very stubborn and is trying to fit a square into a circle......

I'm starting to wonder if she actually reads critical feedback on her music or looks at stats on her music to see what performs well and what doesn't.

I cant think of a logical reason why she ignores the smooth midtempo R&B lane lane she can easily do well in.

What do you guys think about Good 2 U on latto's album? Would y'all be okay with that song if it were CIARA's song feat. latto? have a (non cringy) ciara verse and a latto verse?

Yeah pretty much, but a little less "bubblegum" on production and a bit more mature on lyrics.
