This is quite bad but let's not pretend the CiCi mixtape was kinda fire.

Cici was a step in the right direction because it had melodic songs. Still felt like leftovers but at least they were leftovers that fit her pocket.

She should hop on the afrobeat trend. Her voice is basically made for it.

She's somehow always ahead of the trends then decides to pivot to some dated mess. :skull:

I hate the she has so much freedom in music.......b/c it exposes that she has no idea what she is doing.....she should hire an A&R.

Someone said her whole team is full of mostly white people and if that's true that may be the reason. They probably don't understand her artist journey. She's also the boss so she makes all the decisions which has proven to be a bad thing. What a sad reality. Sucks to be a fan these days

is that actually true? I'd tried searching who her team is (music wise) in 2024; and nothing really pops up. I highly doubt she has a strong one tho, given how she moves

I know she had a team when she opened up offices for Beauty Marks in Seattle. They used to be on the company's website, but are no longer there. :skull:https://www.beautymarksentertainment.com

They seem to have left when she moved to Denver? I guess that's why she signed that deal with Republic to use their resources, but it didn't end up working out.

This is terrible. Ciara is my favourite artist and even her lacklustre releases in the last few years have been good (just not single material). The rap intro is horrendous, and the rest is just dull.

If she's making music for herself then fine, but if she's trying to get hits again then she needs help.

Yea, a-lot of her newer songs just lack authenticity which is why they are so forgettable or they come and go....

How We Roll is literally what we been asking for since 2015......at least it was a step in the right direction, now she fumbled it and is confusing her audience with an inconsistent sound like this........

Its pretty clear she does not have a team, and if she does its definitely ran by idiots.

Pretty much with most of y'all.

She's a big part of why I stopped automatically lashing labels, because when some of these girls go "indie" you start to see that they are the problem. Or at least a big part of it.

Ci has definitely been sabotaged by forces in the past and the irony is that some of her most deserving material has been slept on (Dance Like We're Making Love, Freak Me, much of the Ciara album).

But her choices on her own make it abundantly clear that she is a big part of the problem.

Jump being so horrible and yet spending all that $$$ on a Dave Meyers video. Who does that? Let's not even get into the abominations that were Melanin, Better Thangs, Da Girls. Like, sis...be serious.

The only upside of stanning her and following her still is that every so often she will stumble on a good/enough track (like How We Roll with CB). Even then, that will be the time sis gets pregnant and can't promote lol.

She needs a dedicated music team. But I legit don't think she has nor wants to. Beauty Marks the label just feels like an administrative thing. It's just...her.

From what I can tell, she has management that reps her across the board, when in reality someone adept at brand handling may not automatically be "the" person to mold a music career.  Musically she repeatedly works with the same people over and over (Theron, JR, etc), which has me thinking it's either "friend rates" or no rates at all. Especially when listening to the music they give her relative to what they give everyone else.

At this point, I've pretty much checked out in the sense that I don't see any value harping on about "she needs to do xyz" because she's proven over and over that she just won't do it lol. I hate ageism and in a way like that it's becoming less of a "thing", but at the same time she's touching 40 and isn't changing her ways.

I'll always stan and root for her, but I guess growing up within my standom is clocking that her moments to "shine" will either be random/viral (like a Level Up) or on a feature where someone else is at the helm. Beyond that...I'm just not seeing it for her.

Other than that, she clearly lives a beautiful, happy life and I love that for her lol. We have the hits, the nostalgia, and her hunger to keep performing. That will suffice.

Sidebar: I actually like the pre-chorus on this ("driving way too fast, I don't see anyone in front of me"). But that doesn't negate any of the above lol.

Every delusional Ciara stan needs to read this

Like the intro is so annoying. The song is 3-min long and Ciara doesn't start singing until 1:00 mark (which is a third of the song :rip:) The hook is pretty grating too.

But I don't see this being an official single, it's probably something low-budget she throws out for the tour. She doesn't even bother making a visual and upload to YouTube anyway

Another thing, I just heard BIA's new song and it was co-written by Theron Thomas :rip: Like, how does he give BIA a hotter song than Ciara who is his friend & longtime business client ?

Also, Ciara would sound great on this JT song. She needs to work with whoever's behind this!

I don't hate it. The way she is singing on the beat doesn't flow, for me.

It will be a nice intro song if she does an anniversary tour.

It's not a bad thing and it's no shade, but Ciara is a legacy act now.

Bad, yes, but I honestly was predicting 30k :rip:

Wait a damn minute Uncle Al is a BOP and I can see Ciara sliding on that

She needs to be making "sultry baby making music" or "sexy love songs"......

Idk if she capable anymore b/c she is gonna make it corny or it will lack lyrical arrangements.

Its like she just doesn't get it..... WE HATE THE ZUMBA MUSIC AND RAPPING. STOP!

The song fell off the itunes chart on day 2 and #5 on R&B/Soul.

The general public has spoken.

An album full of these would be sublime

Hopefully an album this time. Shame she didn't drop it at the beginning of this tour so she could actually promote it. Maybe she plans on doing a smaller solo tour next year?

Co headline tours need to be her thing. I want production. She can easily tour with Nicki Mjnaj, Chris Brown, Ludacris, Kelly Rowland and even Usher.

She sounds great and I like the song, but I feel like her music has been so corporate recently. Like everything post-Level Up feels like it is purposely being made to either be used in an ad or to be used in a dance on TikTok or be background music somewhere..which I understand given she's in the music business, but i feel it's impacting her musical growth.

Her collaborators really need to challenge her more.

She definitely got cocky with Level Ups success and has been desperately trying to recreate that

When someone compared Ciara to Katy Perry as having similar consistently corny choices in music, I gasped because it was so true. :rip:

I love Ci to bits and pieces, but her recent output is a far cry from the woman I fell in love with. I'll take "Fantasy Ride" Ciara a million times over the artist she is now.

We need a re release of Fantasy Ride with the scrapped tracks Up/Down, Echo, I'm On, Switch, Walk On Em All, Click and Blauw asap

I can't get over her not pushing Freak Me in 2018.

This was a hit waiting to happen why she didn't release it officially as a single is beyond me especially since it was on trend and ahead of it's time

So you saw her live once and planned on seeing her again but because you were disappointed the first time you sold the ticket? She has barely toured in the past decade. She could just be rusty and needs to get back in the swing of things. She's been popping out babies literally every other year 😭 show our girl some grace
