Ugh, what is she doing..

She has such a momentum with the tour, why isn't she interested in upgrading her sound? She could do so much more as an artist, this sounds right off Basic Instincts, what is this gangsta persona? You are not in your early 20s Ciara, we know your private life and you are not that kind of woman. I wish her matureness would translate into her music. Work with more progressive producers damn it, you got the money.

It's okay. Could be better if there was no feature and replace with a hook or something.

What is this :deadbanana:

she could do so much better musically. she is definitely not playing to her strengths on songs like this. Whoever posted that house remix of Fantasy was correct. that sound is interesting, natural for her, and listenable

Oh I dont follow her. I thought she had a song called fantasy from the 2000s and this was a remix.

well even better knowing that she is capable of currently making songs like that and it wasnt just a remix.

She sounds great and I like the song, but I feel like her music has been so corporate recently. Like everything post-Level Up feels like it is purposely being made to either be used in an ad or to be used in a dance on TikTok or be background music somewhere..which I understand given she's in the music business, but i feel it's impacting her musical growth.

Her collaborators really need to challenge her more.

Yeah.....that's exactly what it is...… her chasing that corporate sound makes alot of her music sound so generic or lifeless

for years I've been waiting for her to give us something more "authentic" but atp i dont think we will ever get it.

When someone compared Ciara to Katy Perry as having similar consistently corny choices in music, I gasped because it was so true. :rip:

I love Ci to bits and pieces, but her recent output is a far cry from the woman I fell in love with. I'll take "Fantasy Ride" Ciara a million times over the artist she is now.

Crazy you say this because I never see you on here defending her like I do when it comes to it.  I do a lot to defend her but I'm also not delusional and know when to hold her accountable for mediocrity. You just come here to post numbers. Numbers that are insignificant at that. That's also my frustration, her own stans (not all) seem out of touch with the way this industry works today and what the climate of music is. They are STUCK in 2009. iTunes numbers don't matter anymore because iTune sales don't do as much damage as they used to. It's all streaming/radio. The only time iTunes numbers matter is if sales are extremely high. Ciara doesn't have that pull anymore. Her sales barely even cross 1,000-5,000 at most in a single week of release.  Then those sales decline greatly.

This song is NOT going to catch on. It would barely even when this sound was popular back in 2013. WAKE UP and stop being delusional.

YES!

Every song she's put out post Epic Records has felt like a marketing ploy to trend on tiktok. There's a difference between having a balance  with that or using tiktok as a platform to elevate your audience reach but you can tell she's purely making music so that it just "catches on" on tiktok or any viral platform.  That to me feels lazy and uninspired. That's why there's no consistency and her sound feels all over the place. When she makes an album there's no theme or direction. There's no artistic lense. It's just a bunch microwavable songs  or songs that sound like leftovers from artists who were popular years ago and didn't use it.

She should hop on the afrobeat trend. Her voice is basically made for it.

She's somehow always ahead of the trends then decides to pivot to some dated mess. :skull:
