My best friend in the world is Venezuelan. His family in there, nothing would make me more happy than for that awful dictatorship to end once and for all.

honestly this whole situation is so sad, I think the media has demonized Venezuelans, bad reputation, it's all over the media, but if you take a closer look at what has happened historically in the country, they have been through an awful lot of bad things.

sending all my love to my Venezuelan friends. wish there was something we could do to change things for the better.

These losers :priceless:

Quote

We are happy to officially congratulate Nicolás Maduro on his re-election to the presidency of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Not only has Maduro reinforced his leadership, he has done so with the firm backing of the burgeoning commune movement in Venezuela whose support has proven crucial for his re-election amidst a brutal US-backed sanctions regime.

With the National Electoral Council of Venezuela officially announcing a result of 51.2% of the vote for current president Nicolás Maduro as opposed to 44.2% for second-place finisher Edmundo González with 80 percent of the vote counted, the incumbent president's lead has been determined to be an irreversible trend.

Maduro and the Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) have had to overcome significant adversity, including right-wing sabotage led by opposition figures such as María Corina Machado and the severe economic sanctions imposed by the US government. These actions have aimed to destabilize Venezuela and undermine its sovereignty. Despite these challenges, the resilience of the Venezuelan people and the steadfast leadership of Maduro and the PSUV have ensured the continuation of social programs and economic initiatives that benefit the majority.

The success of Maduro's re-election can also be attributed to the vital role played by the commune movement in Venezuela. These grassroots organizations have empowered local communities, fostering self-governance and cooperative economic activities that align with the principles of the Bolivarian Revolution. The communes have been instrumental in mobilizing support for Maduro, highlighting the importance of collective action and community solidarity in achieving social and economic justice. Our organization has so much to learn from these grassroots militants and their ability to mobilize in the face of such extreme adversity.

The Democratic Socialists of America International Committee was able to participate as credentialed election observers along with over 600 people across the world for this crucial moment and helped verify that the election was conducted freely and fairly, alongside a large cadre of electoral observers from across Latin America and beyond. We witnessed a process that was both free and fair as well as a democratic system that is miles ahead of the one utilized in the United States. Their biometric voting process alone is one that would remove any doubt for corruption. Any attempts to question the legitimacy of PSUV's mandate must be thoroughly rejected as far-right attempts to undermine the Maduro presidency and further destabilize Venezuelan society.

Once again we congratulate the Venezuelan people in providing a model of what it is to struggle against the US empire while also building viable forms of socialism at home that are adapted to their own unique material conditions. We look forward to continuing to work with PSUV, Somos Venezuela and other parties under the socialist coalition of El Gran Polo Patriótico as well as the commune movement. We remain excited at the possibilities of what can be achieved with the deepening of this revolutionary process.

¡Que viva la Revolución Bolivariana!

¡Chávez Vive!

An absolute disease. Defending a failed socialist model which happens to be a genoicide dictatorship at the same time. They call themselves "democratic" just for convenience. Meanwhile, more than 2 days after the elections ended, the National Electoral Center has yet posted the detailed results for each polling stations, in fact, their webpage has been down since. See when you rely on lies, but whatever to defend your ideology.

Well done Venezuela ❤️🇻🇪

Rogue leaders HAVE to be kicked out!

I Do love when people finally realize they've been fooled, speak out and take action.

When's this gonna happen in countries like Russia, Italy, Turkey or Hungary?

Just to name EU ones...

I honestly feel terrible:weeps: it seems like there's no hope for us, 11 people killed already and the military service is still supporting Maduro and their fraud. I really want to stay in my country but it seems like eventually, we will all have to leave

My mom and dad are paranoid right now and I don't blame them. They are telling me to not post anything negative about the goverment on the internet because it could be dangerous. I'm starting to think to delete my twitter account right now :rip:

Laughable statement, the fact it does not condemn the violence caused by the dictator... Also to "remember the Chávez spirit", curious, the same one which was only interested in stealing, destroying, taking revenge, who committed a coup d'état, and was thirsty for power to the point that he eliminated the indefinite election and increased the presidential term, Democrat? The joke tells itself. Can't expect anything less from this scum jalabolas. Poor Colombia.

Yeah, my parents are very anxious, to be fair, I feel that's the national sentiment right now, a generalized anxiety over this tense and very weird situation. I admire people who have to work and go on with their lives, because I can't concentrate, and I'm not even in Venezuela.

My country could really help, after all we are the biggest South America country.

Lula interview yesterday was tragic, let's see if his embassor coming back + the call with Biden + the pressure from Brazilian media + congress changes anything.

Something positive, nevertheless

Of course, these chavistas mfs are so predictable that they will start discrediting the organization because it is based in the United States, etc. Funny because they themselves invited them to be international observers, in fact, the Minister of Defense himself praised them less than a week ago. See when you can't handle the TRUTH and are completely rotten, but whatever to justify the "revolution", disgusting.
