The ruling party (named United Socialist Party of Venezuela) is a left wing to far left party. Also, the main project of Chavismo has been "The socialism of 21st century", many socialists around the world have shown admiration for it. It is a left dictatorship, which some defend blindly because you know... it's left.

And the nazis were oficially called "National Socialist German Workers' Party", but they were actually a far-right totalitarian party.

No modern western left-wing democracy admires Venezuelan "socialism". Venezuela is seen internationally as failed state.

There's nothing wrong with socialism per se, as it has worked in many countries. Unfortunately there will always be corruption and power-hungry people, no matter the economic system.

There are manifestations going on, Petare (the biggest barrio of latam) went down. Caracas is getting serious. I live in Valencia and it's ugly here too.

I agree with what you're saying. However, I will always condemn how several socialist goverments have remained silent or speaking very softly when it comes to reject a genoicidal dictatorship as Venezuela's, and calling it as it is, because they share the "same ideals". I hope they don't end up recognizing this whole circus this time. Chile has been very frontal, and I applaud the position it is taking; other governments should do the same.

2nd vicepresident of the Spanish gov has called for recognition of the results that have "transparency" according to her. I know that she does not necessarily represent the government of Spain, but it is a real shame to make such a statement given the irregularity of the process.

Good riddance to the biggest mf this country has ever had. Beautiful to see people realizing the serious damage he did to our beautiful nation: misery, hunger, broken families, division, ridiculous corruption, violence, deaths, and the list goes on. Yesterday was his birthday, and yesterday was the day when the vast majority of venezuelans united and massively rejected his destructive ideology.

The dictatorship has ordered the expulsion of all diplomatic personnel from Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Uruguay and Dominican Republic.

Protesters next to the Miraflores Palace (Government Palace) are being dispersed with gunshots carried out by chavistas "colectivos" (gangsters) right now. Protests continue nationwide.

Absolutely devastated to see these criminals trying to murder innocent lives.

Even the Venezuelan Comunist Party knows how unbelievable those results were.

The pressed communists in the comments, they are truly rotten.

Ojalá el pueblo unido pueda sacar a ese monstruo y a su equipo de corruptos violadores de la dignidad humana. :mazen:

Translation: The tally of records indicates that Edmundo González capitalized 6,275,182 valid votes, while Nicolás Maduro achieved 2,759,256. In these results, 26.75% of the minutes (tables/machines) are still missing. In percentage terms Gonzalez obtains 67% and Maduro 29%.

This is according to the 73.2% of records owned by the opposition. To put it in context: It is mandatory that the political blocs have the original record that is generated by each electoral center in Venezuela to validate the information with that provided by the CNE (Electoral National Center).

The records are going to be posted publicly in a webpage in the next hours.

What an absolute JOKE and DISGUSTING statement from Colombia.

Translation: The Government of Colombia urges the Venezuelan people, their political leaders and their authorities to reject violence, preserve peace, prioritize transparent and guaranteeing dialogue among all sectors in the search for institutional and democratic agreements in the face of the current electoral situation in the country.

Colombia, as part of the international community, will be ready to support the necessary efforts to guarantee peace, stability and democratic deepening in the region.

The way they did not REJECT any of this fraud is beyond laughable. Another socialist friendship that can NOT speak against a left dictatorship.

Sadly, this was expected and is so embarrassing to see as a Colombian.

Our current president's wet dream is to become the next Chavez/Maduro. He is quiet at the moment, which is highly unusual since he is on twitter ALL the time.:rip:

Can't wait for @AOC to backup this narrative. But her silence also says a lot.

Since the end of the last century, Chavismo managed to divide the country into two totally opposite, polarized blocks, making us believe that we were good vs bad, rich vs poor, black vs white. The reality is that, we are already tired of all the hatred, humiliation, theft and misery to which we have been subjected through more than 2 decades, and today, it is not the cry of a "sector of the population", but of the country that has decided that we only want to progress, and that it is only possible getting rid of this scum.
