2024 Venezuela Election: Maduro won by fraud, Protests going on.

So, basically today is election day here in Venezuela, and as a new voter myself, never in my life have the polling stations been so crowded, the people on the street, everything has been OVERWHELMING.

According to an estimated poll by Edison Research, Edmundo Gonzalez would lead with 65% while Maduro would only have 31%.

Everybody knows that behind Edmundo, there's a great woman, our iron lady, our Kamala Harris, Maria Corina Machado. Just look at the faces of both exercising their right to vote.

This is an OFFICIAL data stating that in that polling station opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez won with 500+ votes, an incredible defeat to maduro, who only has 60.

I hope this is a new chapter for my country Venezuela and that once and for all this 25 year dictatorship ends. Stay tuned!

Do you know why the 2018 election had such a low turnout? Only 45%, down 34% from the 2013 one.

Everyone was tired, we were coming out of the 2017 hunger crisis and that's when the mass migration started, everyone was hopeless. Manuel Rosales, the opponent, didn't have good management and it was said that he had secret ties with Maduro.

I think it's clear he lost by a great margin

But I want to see what happens. Winning is not enough with a dictator

Because Maduro chose his own oposition like he wanted to do it this year

This year Maduro didn't let Maria Corina Machado (the real oposition leader) to participate in the elections but thank god another contender (which has Maria Corina's support) and not releated with Maduro could participate at least

I want to believe Venezuela will be free this time. But like someone said already, he is a dictator and he will do whatever he wants.

Let's hope Maria Corina has a plan if he decides to steal the elections again.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

OH GOD, I AM SO ANXIOUS

MUERTE AL CHAVISMO!!

I am so hopeful this time, because people seem so united and ANGRY at the same target, this goverment has destroyed in so many ways. Praying for my country in these decisive hours. Some reliable source is talking about the gap being 22% in favor of Edmundo (pa' todo el mundo PERIODD), which is hard to deny.

Wish I could be there.

They are losing even in the chavistas states

I wonder what will they do to steal the votes again

in some polling stations they are already giving results, Edmundo is winning all of them, but in the biggest ones they are sending these famous colectivos (gangsters paid by the government) to scare the opposition witnesses. that is where they want to cheat, they are scared to ****.

For those caring if Maduro is left or right:

These are the gangsters (irregular pro-goverment support that the gov has constantly used through years to scare/kill innocent people that oppose to them):

He is very conservative piece of trash, won the support of far right institution Universal Church this election...

but the left in Latin America defend him since 2012:biblionny:

Because Chavismo controls all the powers here and it wouldn't be the first time they steal an election

Also when the oposition wins something (like the Congress in 2015) they find the way to strip them from their powers.

So even if Maduro accepts the defeat today I wouldn't be surprised if he finds the way to steal the presidency in the next 6 months (Edmundo still has to wait until February of 2025 :biblio: to start his period as President)

Actually he represents the most left wing in the country. The goverment party (The United Socialist Party of Venezuela) is a left-wing to far-left socialist political party.
