FOCK Posted July 28 Posted July 28 (edited) Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. reacts to rumors regarding a Grammy voter's alleged lack of respect for an artist based on a performance that took place over ten years ago: "I was shocked and disturbed by that. There is no place in our organization for such bias, grudge-holding, or careless voting. It's about the current year and the quality of the work, period! There should be no other rationale for voting. If you are taking into account an artist's older work, or their reputation, or race, or gender, what label they are on, who their manager is, how many friends participated in the project, or anything else like that, you're not doing your job." You need to change your voters, Harvey, some alterations on their credentials & their brainnnnnn. Edited July 28 by FOCK 1

Popular Post Hurem Posted July 28 Popular Post Posted July 28 Grammys, Oscars and all other award shows will always be about who campaigns the best. And it's not just the regular promo, some artists are hosting dinners for voters, which is basically bribing them to give them their votes. These awards will never be fair and it's best not to take them too seriously. They've become so much less relevant in past few years due to social media and streaming services allowing audiences to explore the music landscape more freely than ever before. 23 9
MALAMENTE Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Are people really that surprised? People will always vote for who they like the best, in any situation. Hardly anything is unbiased when it comes to voting.
Paddy Posted July 28 Posted July 28 LOL everyone knows that just like Golden Globes, Oscars, Grammy's etc... it's all a game. Whoever plays the game the best wins, it's not about the best album, the best music released that year, it's about who plays the game, who participates in private event, mingles with the voters etc. 9 4

burninredhot Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Honestly there's no way possible for the voting to be completely unbiased.. all Grammy voters are people who work in the music industry and all of them obviously have a personal bias 7
Popular Post Shelter Posted July 28 Popular Post Posted July 28 A lot don't even listen to the music. Harry's House and MIDnights, like really. 2 18 1

aotwbys Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Don't they get gift baskets and other sh*t to sway their votes? Everyone knows these Grammy awards are illegitimate to some extent. That's one reason why the award show has lost its influence outside of stan Twitter 1
Bubble Tea Posted July 28 Posted July 28 This just reminds me of the Kathy Griffin "My Life on the D-List" episode where she was scheming to get the Best Comedy Album Grammy and they were calling up all these random ass people trying to get them to vote for "beloved comedienne Kathy Griffin." anyway needless to say I highly suspect Taylor Nation was more than involved in getting MIDnights it's undeserved win. 3 1

faceclef Posted July 28 Posted July 28 the problem with the grammys and all award shows is because of demographics nonwhite people have to make the biggest hit in history to have the same reach of a white artist and they will still lose because voters will choose a name they already know
