why do some germans try to blame arabs for the holocaust/nazism?

can any european explain to me why germans are trying to push a conspiracy theory that arabs were the ones to blame for the holocaust/nazism? :skull:

an "award winning" journalist from German media says "the middle east has never came to terms with its nazi past"

the middle east never had a nazi past and didn't even participate in WW2 because they were either under british/french occupation or were newly independent countries

a german "left wing" group calls Palestinians "the descendants of jew gassers"....?¿? :clown:

i've also argued with many germans online who kept trying to push this narrative and it's just bizarre... can someone explain wtf is going on with the germans :skull:

Racism/Islamophobia. Also, white people have never been good at taking responsibility for their evil past so it's easier to blame others.

The German government literally taking over a Middle Eastern news outlet to then pump out propaganda that Muslims are the root cause of antisemitism - let alone somehow the root cause of Nazism - really is the flaws of European society rolled up into one finite moment, huh. :deadbanana4:

The same reason that some Americans  believe in QAnon.

Both countries have a high population and some are bound to be nutters. Do we have more accurate numbers than "some"?

Absolutely no one does this and that's not what it says in the tweet :rip: it doesn't mention the holocaust at all so not sure how you even came up with that.

Nazis committed the most horrific antisemitic crimes in history, but that doesn't absolve Middle Eastern countries of their own history of antisemitism and ethnic cleansing of Jews

Funny how you carefully separated the Nazis from the Germans as a whole but didn't do the same with the Arabs.

Maybe because the Nazis are one specific political party from one country, but not all Middle Eastern countries with a history of antisemitism have been run by the same ruler? :rip: I really didn't think this would require an explanation

Nazism in Germany transcended the political party. Antisemitism was very ingrained in the general population way before Hitler came along, so the Nazi party was a consequence of anti Jew sentiment that had been brewing for decades and not the other way around.

And according to your statement, the antisemitism in Germany and the subsequent genocide was a product of a political movement which is completely incorrect, while also suggesting that all antisemitism in the middle east is inherent to them.

To deflect their own cultural failings. Germans love to pretend they've "grown" as a nation from the Holocaust but they haven't at all. This is why they could care less about Gaza.

Don't let Germans/Europeans gaslight y'all about anything. Especially since they're going through the same imperial decline as the US.
