Virgos Groove Posted July 26 Posted July 26 (edited) People seem to think these sanctions only hit specific politicians and that's never the case. They are specifically designed to oppress populations for voting for (or being ruled by) anti-imperialist governments. If Westerns truly cared about the human rights in these nations (a valid concern!), then opposing these criminal sanctions should be the top priority. Focusing on anything else is like worrying about the decoration in a house that's on fire. How is a nation supposed to, say, reform their judicial system or improve their stance on minority rights when they can't even access basic nourishment? There's this really good article about Cuba's embargo (here's a translated version) and the ways it impacts everyday life. It's horrifying stuff. Edited July 26 by Virgos Groove 5 6

Phaunzie Posted July 26 Posted July 26 The slow and painful death of the nations, now that is the America's way that we all remember. After all citizens are displaced due to food, trade and water storage, America will swoop for all the sweet, tasty resources. Anyway who thinks this change is for democracy or some altruistic goal, it's not. Sanctions are the favourite tool of the USA to cripple governments that withhold resources that it wants.
