To be fair, you have no idea what intel the American govt has about potential threats. This seems like they know something and they're adding security for American athletes. It's no secret America is extremely unpopular right now due to their ongoing funding and support of Is*eal. Like are there not enough police officers in the EU as to not have to fly out several dozen from half way across the world? Edit: Apparently Los Angeles is hosting the Olympics in 2028, so the idea is more for them to learn in preparation for ramping up security for that. Then they should stay home instead of spreading stupid American ideas around the world and the French should have said no.
